Walgreens

I was going to head to Walgreens myself today as I have about $9 in Register Rewards set to expire in the next few days.

Boy am I glad I read this post over at Krazy Coupon Lady!  Today only, you can save an additional 15% on your purchase (and 20% off Walgreens brand items) with this printable coupon.  Please note that you must redeem this at the photo or cosmetics counter and present it at the start of your transaction.

Wondering how to use it?  Read my Walgreens deals for the week.

VS

I just found a great freebie thanks to one of my all-time favorite bloggers, Freebies4Mom!

Become a fan of Victoria Secret on Facebook.  Then, click on the "Secrets" tab to print a pdf coupon good for not one, but TWO free panties with any purchase!

In order to use this coupon, you must redeem it in-store, tomorrow only (September 1).  While it does require you make a purchase in order to redeem, Freebies4Mom has so nicely pointed out that it's "ANY" purchase…so you might look for travel-sized bottles of lotion or other such items if you'd like to keep your costs down.

The coupon is good up to $17 worth of undies, so I consider this a deal worth doing if you're in need of some new unmentionables.

I wanted to remind everyone that this buy one, get one free coupon is still available.  As is the case with printables, I can't say how much longer this will be up.

Incidentally, I've heard folks have had a hard time locating this item.  I can tell you that for sure I've seen it at Walgreens – it was $1.50 the last time I noticed it.  Has anyone else had success finding it at their grocery store?

Restaurant.com Weekly Promo Offer 300 x 250

Just a reminder that today is the last day of the Restaurant.com 80% off sale.  How does this work?  Go to Restaurant.com and type in your zip code.  View the participating restaurants in your area and select your $25 gift certificates.  They will show as $10 each until you get to checkout.  Once you're done shopping, enter the coupon code TASTE and viola!  Your gift certificates will now show up as $2 each!

You will then be able to print your certificates right away.  No waiting for them to arrive in the mail!  Most certificates do require you spend at least $35 to redeem (excluding alcohol), so be sure to read the fine print.  Either way, here's how the math breaks down:

Restaurant bill: $35
You use your certificate: – $25
You pay: $2 for the certificate, and $10 for the difference in your food bill
Bottom line: you just got $35 worth of food for $12!

I think this is an excellent way to cut costs on eating out.  Use them for date nights, as gifts for friends or coworkers, for business lunches, or to try restaurants that you wouldn't have otherwise.

These sales do seem to cycle around, so if you're not sure if it's right for you, why not buy one today for $2?  If it works, you can wait for the next 80% sale and buy a few more!  Go here to get started.

GarlicJim

Garlic Jim's is one of my favorite pizza places.  They have a great selection of toppings and they always deliver fast.  Last night, I went online to check out their menu and place an order, and I noticed they had an online delivery option.  I'd never tried it, but thought I'd give it a try.

There's a tab for "Specials" and when I clicked on that the first option was for two medium pizzas – for just $6 each!  At first I thought it was a typo because I've never seen a deal like that for Garlic Jim's.  After calling the store, I learned that this is an online offer only.  So you can't call and place your order to get this deal, you have to place it online.

I have to say the online ordering was pretty easy overall.  It lets you select your toppings, and even if you want 1/2 of the pizza one way and the other 1/2 the other way.  The only problem I encountered was that once I added the pizza to my order, there was no easy way to go back and edit it other than remove it and start over.

My pizza arrived about 30 – 40 minutes after placing my online order, about the same as if I'd called and placed my order over the phone.  Delivery adds $2.25 to your order, so if you'd like to avoid that, select the "pick-up" option.

I'm unsure how long this offer is good for, so if you have a hankering for pizza, you might check it out soon!

Go here for locations, menu, and to place your order.

While I generally advocate just using your local library, I found a company that might fit the needs of a real bookworm!
Bookswim is an online book rental service that sends books directly to your home.  Because there's never any due date, there's no late fees.  The service touts itself "the Netflix of books."  Plans start at just $9.95 per month and you'll always be sent pre-paid mailing envelopes to return your books.

Who do I think this service would work for?
  • Someone who likes to read bestsellers and either 1) doesn't like to wait for them at the library or 2) ends up just buying them.
  • Someone who lives a fair distance from the library and who would make better use of the library if gas costs weren't a consideration.
  • Someone who spends more than $10 on books per month.
  • Someone who tends to run up library fees due (overdue books, perhaps?)
