Kraft Natural Cheese part of Albertsons promotion this week

Albies

Well I did my Albertsons run today with the kids.  As a reminder, this week you can score $25 worth of free groceries (you'll receive a $5 Catalina coupon and instructions for a $20 rebate).  When I got home, I realized I could have made the deal considerably sweeter…

I purchased $10 worth of Kraft Cheese (6 bags total) and, the Natural shreds and cubes were part of this promotion.  In last week's inserts, there was a $1-off-2 coupon.  So I could have made a profit of $3 on the cheese.  SIGH!

Knowing what I do now, here's a great way you could do this deal:

Buy 15 packages of Kraft natural cheese (shreds and cubes) = $25
Use (7) $1-off-2 coupons (8/9 inserts) = pay $18
Get your $5 Cat and $20 rebate
Bottom line = Profit of $7!

Now *IF* there are any doublers in this weekend's insert, you've got a steal of a deal, my friend.  I also want to point out that this is a really terrific price, regardless of the rebate offering.  According to the fine print, there is only one $20 rebate per address/household.  However, the $5 Cat should still roll when you spend $25.  So if you wanted, you could take your $5 Cat and do the deal again, like so:

Buy 15 packages of Kraft natural cheese = $25
Use (7) $1-off-2 coupons AND the $5 Cat from the first transaction = $13
Receive another $5 Cat
Bottom line = $8 ($0.53 each)

Let's say you did the above two deals as stated above.  At the end of it, you'd have 30 packages of cheese (these freeze well!), and you'd have spent $31 out of pocket, but would get a $20 rebate and also have a $5 Cat left over.

Bottom line: $6 for 30 packages of cheese ($0.20 each).  Holy cow, Batman!

UPDATE!  UPDATE!  There are three doublers in this week's insert.  Use three of them in the first transaction and three in the second, and you've scored 30 bags of cheese for FREE!  Just when I thought the deal couldn't get any better, it did!

Katrina, some people order specific coupons like this through ebay or a clipping service. However, this promo only goes until tomorrow, so it probably wouldn’t be worth it. (However, I’ve not used either service, so maybe I’m wrong…) In addition to the $1/2 ones, I’d also found $0.50/1 tearpad ones in the past…but can’t say I’ve seen those around for awhile.

Even without coupons, it’s still not a bad deal. If you did the deal once without coupons, you’d still get 15 bags of cheese for FREE. If you decided to do the deal a second time, you could apply your $5 Cat to the next order, pay $20 and get another Cat. At the end of it, you would have paid $20 for 30 bags of cheese AND you’d still have a $5 cat left. That would work out to something like $0.50 a bag.

Hope that helps.

Thank you so much for posting this!!! I am so glad that I saw it today! 15 bags of cheese (should get us through the winter :) !!!

I only had 1 $1/2 coupon but ended up running into another hard core (and I mean hard core – you should have seen her coupon set up!!!) couponer in the cheese section who gave me 5 of her .50/1 coupons that she wasn’t going to use and then was behind another lady in line that looked in my cart and smiled and said “I did that deal yesterday” – then she gave me another $1/2 coupon that she had as an extra! So in the end I ended up making $7.50 and my coupon has the $2 off next purchase when I complete the survey! I went in for free cheese and ended up making some money too – woo hoo!
