Pierce County, WA residents: get library fees waived through Oct. 10!

If you live in Pierce County, Washington and have outstanding library fees, I've got some very good news for you today! From now through October 10th, you can have up to $75 in fees waived simply by asking! Pierce County Libraries are offering fee-forgiveness to bring back patrons that have likely avoided the library due to outstanding fees.

The important thing to note is that you must ask to have your fees waived, this won't happen automatically. So if you have fees, you will need to swallow your pride a bit!

Whoa! Really?! Wow. I wish Bellevue would have that. I have so many fines, I swear I pay the librarians salary.

Shannon, just ask! It never hurts. Bring your checkbook or cash and tell the librarian you want to bring your account into good standing. Tell them how you read about what Pierce County is doing and how it inspired you to contact them about making things right. Ask them if they will waive half of your library fees if you will pay the rest in full RIGHT NOW. If you’ve never had fees waived before, they might be inclined to do a one-time fee waive for you.
