I have learned so much from this blog. I have been reading and watching for about a month an a half now and still have a lot to learn. I love you code of ethics and the reason why I follow your posts. :)

Angela, you're amazing. You are a teacher. You are honest and sincere. You are encouraging and I am so blessed to have run into your blog. No wonder Albertson's employees are referring their customers to your blog! Wow!

God bless you sweetheart.

Thank you for writing about this. I agree with you on every point.
I make every effort to be nice to my cashiers because I used to be one. They appreciate it so much, there is nothing worse than a rude customer who pretends they are a better and a more important human being than you are.
I was at Target the other day and noticed the peelies were gone from about 90% of a particular item. It drives me crazy! Anyone who wants to purchase that item should be able to use the peelie on the item they are buying...

Thanks for a great site on couponing. I'm adding you to my list of favorites!

I agree if you are one of those people that have been couponing for a long time Iam happy for you but don't go rubbing it in to us newbies that are just getting started I know as far as Iam Iam happpy if I save 20 on an outing thats 20 I didn't have before I have gas money for the week, lets be there to support eachother rather than one up each other. We are in it to save no matter if we save a dollar or we save 100 on an outing. Sorry I just had to speak my mind.

At our church rummage sale this weekend, I had a woman roll her eyes at me b/c I haven't managed to save the 240% she has..and her daughter beat that with 365%. This woman says that she gets 20 sets of coupons each week but does not buy newspapers..how is this possible? and how is she saving that high of a % in the Tacoma/Federal Way area? I hid my grin when I realized she came in looking for a mini paper cutter and I had already purchased it for$2. Made yesterday's cutting a breeze.

Thanks

I now do this too. I am finding more and more stores have allowed for this in their policy and/or how they do business. I should probably revisit some of these lessons. ;)

Like you, I still always make sure to 1) ask first and 2) gage how buzy the store is and if I need to let someone else go in front of me.

Love your lessons... but I have to admit, i will do more than one transaction to roll my reward to pay for the next BUT I ALWAYS make sure there is no one behind me and I let the cashier know ahead of time of what my plan is. If someone comes behind me I finish what I am doing and let them go ahead of me and I will finish when they are done. I hate being stuck behind someone taking a long time so I try not to make anyone wait behind me. Especially if I am just getting my "free treasures"

Hi Angela,

Thanks for your informative blog and "lessons" for couponing. While I am not new to using coupons, I am new to the stockpiling way of thinking. Conservatively of course. ;-) I do have a 13 year old son who is now starting to eat frequently, so stockpiling will actually be useful. My hubby is the one usually doing the grocery shopping and Costco has been our best friend so we are both learning to shop smarter. I am now going to take over the shopping tasks so I have a lot to learn since I don't know shelf prices for most items and what the best deals are. I am really happy I found your blog since we are in Everett and you understand our shopping limitations here in the PNW (ie. no doubling). Very helpful. My hubby and I have both signed up for your emails.

Hi Angela!

I'm a newbie. In fact, I haven't even made a trip yet. I've cut tons of coupons that I "might" use. I'm planning to test the waters slowly with what I think is a good deal for Oscar Mayer hotdogs. I usually shop at Aldi (I'm in Indiana so I don't know if you are familiar with them). Anyway, I usually buy hotdogs for .75 (which is super cheap anyway). In today's weekly grocery ad another grocery store (Marsh) has hotdogs for $3/2. I have 2 coupons for $1 off 2 packs. Marsh also doubles coupons so in my calculations I should only be paying .50 each. Plus, if I bring my own bag they will take an additional .05 off and we have no sales tax for food here. Which should be a total of $1.95. Can this be right? Even though it seems logical I don't quite have the confidence yet. I found your blog last night while researching couponing and so far you are the only one who shares my "conservative" views on stockpiling. It just doesn't make sense to me to have more than what my family can reasonably use. Thanks so much for taking your time to put this together. It's so helpful and encouraging.
