There is a P&G insert due out tomorrow and you’ll notice a few sales at both Rite Aid and Walgreens to match the coupons with. Don’t be hasty in using those high value P&G coupons, folks. There may be additional deals coming you’ll want to have them for. I remember a particularly HOT Albertsons P&G promotion early in January 2009 where I ended up with a decent stock of Pampers for cheap. So watch!
In fact, there are a few P&G Register Reward “deals” I’m intentionally omitting from this week’s ad because I do NOT believe they are truly deals. Just because there’s a Register Reward involved doesn’t mean it’s the way to go. I only share matchups that I honestly believe are worth considering. And this is a fairly light week for Walgreens.
Don’t forget there are a lot of coupons set to expire on the 31st. I noticed that we have a bit of an overlap from the 11/29 P&G insert and the 12/27 insert – for instance, both have a $0.50/1 Pepto Bismal coupon you could use. Just make sure to do so before the 31st. The Healthy Savings Booklet coupons also expire on the 31st. I suspect we’ll see a January Walgreens coupon booklet out as soon as tomorrow. Look for it in your store near the ads or on endcaps.

$0.50 Walgreens foil with in-ad coupon
10-pack yellow or 5-pack mechanical pencils
$0.49 Mars candy bars with in-ad coupon
Look for holiday decor and candy on DEEP discount – look for small items; they usually abound!

Thanks for reminding us that RR deals are not always the best! Other bloggers seem to loose their minds over RR deals! Another BIG THANKS for not posting Walmart deals!
Meghan, yes actually it appeared to me that some of the RR “deals” this week sneekily involved jacking up the prices of the items. Not cool in my book. It all boils down to the “bottom line” for me. I want to gain the trust of my readers and I do that by being picky about what I share. This means editing and leaving things out sometimes.
Thanks for the Walmart comment. I occasionally getting inquiries, but yours was my first “thank you” comment. It was a decision I labored over, but ultimately feel good about and stand by. Truth is, I have found you do NOT need to shop at Walmart for great deals. It’s a couponers myth that Walmart has the best coupon deals. I beg to differ.
Heads up on a couple of items: within the weekly ad there’s a section on the right side of the spread of pages that says “$1 you pick” and has a bunch of different items. We were only interested in the Colgate toothpaste and Right Guard antipersperant for my husband and figured out that we had to ask for those items, they were NOT clearly marked as $1 anywhere on the shelves. The toothpaste is the basic Colgate Cavity Protection 4.6 ounce tube that was on the shelf listed for $2.99 I think. The Right Guard was a special size that was bigger than a travel size but smaller than the regular size we buy. When I asked, the sales associate knew just what to get for me.
