An interesting new promotion is shaking at Rite Aid. It’s called the Game of Life and apparently you collect pieces for every purchase you make. Plus, select items earn you bonus pieces. Collect pieces until you have enough to earn prizes. What kind of prizes? Well, anything from $2 cash to a convertible to $250,000 for your mortgage. Hmmm. Interesting line up. And there are 900,000 instant winners. Sounds a lot like McDonald’s Monopoly Game to me.
The front page of this week’s ad gave me a little chuckle tonight. The headline reads “It’s New Year’s Resolution Time!” Right below, are vitamins and Nicorette. OK, I follow. But below that? M&Ms and beer. I guess if your resolution is to party hard and enjoy sweets, Rite Aid is your place!

If you’ve never used Rite Aid’s rebate program before, you’ll be glad to know it’s easy. Start by creating an online account here Then, come back and simply enter a few pieces of info from your receipts. At the end of the monthly rebate cycle, submit for your check and viola! you’re done. Of course, you could do it the old fashioned way by circling items on receipts and mailing them all in…but why would you?
