My trip today at Fred Meyer

While I have plenty of freezer meals on hand to see us through the next 2-3 weeks, we were completely out of produce and milk. I decided to pack up the kids this afternoon and head to Fred Meyer. I'm glad I headed to my mailbox first – there was my First Taste coupon for a FREE box of Oreo Cakesters as well as a Fred Meyer coupon booklet that had a $1 off 1 Van de Camp coupon in it. (I later realized there was a Vocalpoint coupon for a FREE box of Kashi cereal, but I only caught it at home later. DOH!) Seriously, if you've not signed up for First Taste and Vocalpoint, why?? I love getting random freebies in the mail.

Here's what I ended up with today:

Feb2510

All told, I spent $54 for everything. Coupons saved me $17.59, and I saved additionally by buying a few items on sale. Not bad considering the amount of grocery basics and produce I ended up with. A few of my favorite finds from today.

Van de Kamp Frozen Fish sticks
$3 each with in-ad coupon
Stack with $1/1 manufacturer coupon from Fred Meyer mailer
Bottom line: $2

Milk/Kelloggs Deal
4 boxes of Kelloggs for $10
$1.50/2 and $2/2 printable coupons used
2 free gallons of milk with in-ad coupon (must purchase 4 Kelloggs items)
Bottom line: $6.50 for 4 boxes of cereal and 2 gallons of milk

Small Braeburn Apples
$0.78/lb

Small bag of Tomatoes (in that yellow bag off left)
$0.99 each
(these are SOO sweet and good…they're normally about $2.49 a bag)

Whole Chicken
$3.69 (was $0.79/lb)
$2 off meat purchase Rewards coupon
Bottom line: $1.69

If you notice there's a fair amount of healthy items in this mix, it's no accident. As you might recall, I'm on a quest to lose weight (I'm now halfway to my goal of losing 26 pounds), plus I've temporarily given up sugar. I'm working hard to fall in love with my fruits and veggies. It must have worked because I was REALLY craving them today and couldn't get to the store fast enough!
