Groupon

Do you know how Groupon works?

Every day, you’ll be emailed an exclusive deal good for a service or good for your area. These are usually at HUGE discounts. For instance, today’s Tacoma deal is a $39 chiropractic exam and treatment (regularly valued at $205). If enough people agree to do the deal, everyone gets it! You’ll then be given a link to log in and print your Groupon to use.

While I’ve not personally purchased a Groupon, I know it’s becoming an increasingly popular service. I’ve seen daily deals on everything from spa services, laser treatments, dental services, hotels, restaurants, and much more! They are usually fantastic deals. AND, you support local businesses in the process!

Can you believe it’s the end of APRIL already? Geesh.

While printable coupons can reset any time, the end of the month seems to be the time when we lose some great printable coupons (and then we all hope for good new ones at the first of the month!).

I checked Coupons.com and there are some great coupons still available. Remember, you can print two copies of each! Here are some of my pics:

Classico Pasta Sauce $1.50/2
Dove Ultimate Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant $2/1
Welch’s Grape Juice $1/1
Windex Multi-Surface Cleaner $1/1
Stovetop Stuffing $1/2
Heinz Vinegar $1/2
Wow! Wow! Wubbzy DVD $2/1 (oh my goodness my kids love this show…and now I’ve got the theme song stuck in my head!!!)
Kellogg’s Cereals $1/2
Purina Tidy Cats $1/1 (I *believe* this item is currently ~ $1.75 at Target = cheap kitty litter!)
Sunsilk $1/1 (I frequently find these products on clearance at my Walgreens end-cap)
Genesis Today Superfruit Juice $1/1 (anyone tried this?)
Alaska Seafood $1/1

Don’t wait to see if your favorite coupons hang around…print ‘em out now! And remember, when you print Coupons.com, SmartSource, or Red Plum coupons from The Coupon Project, you support this site AND get the same great coupons as if you went through the sites directly. Win-win!

Restaurant.com Weekly Promo Offer 300 x 250

Right now, you can score $25 Restaurant.com gift certificates for $2 each, and $10 gift certificates for $0.80 each when you use coupon code MEAL at checkout.

What are these? How do they work?

Simply go HERE and enter your zip code to see what restaurants participate in your area. Add the gift certificates to your shopping cart. When you checkout, type in code MEAL and you’ll see the 80% off reduction! Once you’ve paid for them, you’ll get them via email – they’re ready to use right away.

How come I’ve not heard of some of these restaurants?

Many of the restaurants that choose to participate are smaller and/or family owned. They’re willing to give you a great discount in exchange for trying them out. It’s a win-win!

What’s the catch? Are there restrictions I should know about?

There certainly ARE limitations to these. I HIGHLY advise you to read the fine print and FAQ over at Restaurant.com before you buy 100 of these. It’s important to note that a 18% gratuity will be added to your bill, and that your certificate can’t go towards the purchase of alcohol. It’s also important to understand that if you buy a $25 certificate, a minimum purchase of $35 is required. You should also note that only ONE certificate can be used per meal (no stacking). I prefer to think of these as really hot coupons, and less like true gift certificates. If you have that understanding, they make better sense.

What do you recommend for someone new to Restaurant.com?

If you’ve never tried one of these, I HIGHLY recommend you buy only ONE. Pick a restaurant you know and love and spend the $2. See how it works, see how much you save (should be at least $23 for a $25 gift certificate)! If you love it, just wait for the next sale – these come around every so often.

Go HERE to get started!

I’ve personally used these and love them! I think they are a great way to support local businesses and save while dining out! If you’ve used them, what was your experience?

Reader Julie sent me a hot tip! At her Albertsons right near the tortillas, she found a $1.50 off ANY 2 Mission products coupon!

AND, in the Albertsons ad (also found at the store), there is a coupon good for $0.79 Mission tortillas (limit 6). If you’re able to find three of the tearpad coupons, you’ll be able to buy 6 packs of Mission Tortillas for only $0.24 out of pocket! (Just remember, you’ll need to hand BOTH the store coupon and manufacturers’ coupons to get this deal.)

I might just have to try this one myself. So…if you find the tearpad coupons, leave three for me. See more Albertsons deals HERE.

Thanks, Julie!
