Tillamook Cheese $3.99 at Safeway!

The 2-lb Tillamook blocks of cheese are just $3.99 at Safeway this week – and there is NO limit. The fact that there is no limit on this low price is highly unusual and definitely stockpile worthy if you like this cheese as much as I do! You can freeze these babies, too.

Does it freeze well? I always thought cheese got crumbly when it was frozen. I love Tillamook cheese too!

I believe it freezes just fine. I’m trying to remember the last time I froze a loaf. I’ve frozen shreds before without incident. Honestly, we go through cheese so fast and the expirations are out SO long, it never makes it into the freezer!!

I am trying the “store it in the cupboard” as is. I read somewhere that you can only do this with Tillamook, it ages into sharp cheddar. Mmmm. I am going to try the freezer method too. (you can never have enough cheese) I really enjoy your blog – thank you for all of the hard work you put into it.

I have never heard that before! Would you please let us know how it works?

And thanks for your kind comments – much appreciated.

I’m all for a good deal,($3.99 is a an awesome price) but I just can’t bring myself to freeze cheese or “store it in the cupboard”. Not that any cheese in our house ever makes it long enough to worry about storage!

Here’s another thought. Buy a loaf, shred it, and then use it in all those great freezer recipes! ;)
