Walgreens deals 5/16 – 5/22

This week at Walgreens? There are definitely a few matchups making decent prices if you NEED these items. With the exception of the Gillette /Old Spice Body Wash deal, nothing’s standing out to me as being stock-up worthy this week. See something I’m missing?

Gillette or Old Spice Body Wash $4.49
Buy one, get one free coupons from 5/2 P&G
Receive a $4.49 Register Reward
Bottom line: BOTH FREE!
(Remember, one Register Reward prints per transaction)

Pantene Hair Care 2/$7
$1/2 shampoo, conditioner coupon from 5/2 P&G
$1/1 styler coupon from 5/2 P&G
Receive a $2 Register Reward
Bottom line: $1.50 – $2 each
(Note: better deals can be had; but not bad if you need the item)

Post Cereals $1.75

(My personal cereal stock-up price is $0.50)

favorite filler item ideas

As a reminder, you must have at least as many items in a given transaction as the number of manufacturer coupons you’re presenting. And it’s important to note that your Register Rewards are treated as manufacturers’ coupons. So if you head to check out with one item, a coupon and a Register Reward, the register won’t accept both. How to remedy this? Simply buy a small “filler item” to balance your transaction. Again…make sure you at least have as many items as manufacturers’ coupons. Store coupons thankfully do NOT count!

Best bets for this week:
Royal Gelatin $0.19 each
Bubble Knee-Hi’s $0.33 each with in-ad coupon (limit 6)
Look for small garden-related items (seeds, maybe?)
Look for small food items – I like the instant coffee packets – the Royal Gelatin also works
Looks for single pencils & cheap stationery items
Look for Walgreens water bottles priced at $0.49! My store had these near the diabetic section (towards the pharmacy). They were on a shelf and filled with first aid items.

I just thought I’d share what I use for fillers in case people don’t know about these. Near the registers they have little boxes of candy (Junior Mints, Boston Baked Beans, Lemon Heads, etc) 5/$1. That way you’re only spending $1 but you have 5 extra items.

I LOVE your “annotated” deals!! I’m very new at this (a $2 box of cereal is/was a deal for me!) and found this very helpful! I can’t wait to spend some more time exploring this site!

Thank you!! Be sure to check the “getting started” tab and the Coupons 101 link from the drop-down. I’ve written step-by-step instructions on how to get started. Feel free to drop a line as you have questions. I’m always on FB too and you can find me over there. Glad to have you aboard!
