Thanks everyone that joined me tonight on The Coupon Project’s first ever LIVE webcast! I must say…this was a different experience for me! And definitely a learning experience (ahem…daughter entering room with limeade while live…oh well!) I would love your feedback on other topics you’d like me to cover, and if this was a good time of week/day to do this.
I’ve also created a quick download that recaps the main points of what I shared: Common Sense Stockpiling

I really enjoyed watching this webcast this am. I don’t shop at any of those stores- yet. I also don’t stockpile – yet. Free sounds good. I want to learn and you gave me something to think about.
Thanks again.
Just finished your first webcast… you did a great job! Your so brave! I would have needed heavy editing
I really liked the ‘common sense’ part and learning what works for your family. I have been stockpiling for a little over a year and I have a larger storage area, (keeping inventory is key) my best advice- ALWAYS look at the expired by dates AT the store. Take your time building up what your family uses. I found a good deal on peanut butter last summer and I thought I had went overboard when I bought 18 jars at $.25 a piece. Now we are out and I am paying closer to $1-$2 per jar. 18 jars would have been crazy for your family, but my family uses a lot of peanut butter and now I know if I see a sale for cheap peanut butter go for it! Can’t wait to see the next topic.
Absolutely! Do not be intimidated to buy a large quantity if your family is going to use it – that’s not hoarding, that’s smart shopping!
In the next few days, I’m going to hammer out some of the details on these webcasts. Opinions, ideas, suggestions are all WELCOME.
I LOVED the webcast video! I loved that you showed us what you keep in your stockpile. I love the idea of keeping the foods you enjoy in a binder to help with meal planning. That is something I constantly struggle with is trying to figure out what to eat for dinner that we didn’t have yesterday. I also struggle with making season appropriate foods (My family would prefer I don’t make homemade chicken noodle soup in the summer, I just don’t get it). In future casts I wouldn’t mind seeing something on your freezer cooking. I have done this in the past but I struggle with the problem of having too much of one thing, or not enough room in the freezer. Even some recipe ideas for freezer cooking that you have tried would be helpful. Maybe something on how you and your family do entertainment, or date nights with your husband. When you do eat out are you using coupons, entertainment book, sticking to a plan (just some ideas I wouldn’t mind seeing)? Maybe how you shop for clothes for your family (this would be helpful for me because I hardly ever buy my own clothes, my kids are WAY better dressed then I will ever be). Even different ways or ideas on organizing (coupon binders, pantry’s pretty much anything is helpful). I have been couponing off and on since 2008 but I love refreshers, and new ideas. I just love your blog so much! In the past I have followed some of the other major “Coupon Mother’s,”but now I just stick to you, and hip2save. I like that you are real and someone I feel I can relate to. I love that you don’t just show us couponing but a change of life. I just think you’re great! Thank you for everything you do and your hard work!
Oh my goodness!! Your comment was SUCH a mood booster for me!! THANK YOU!! Thank you for your ideas here too. I like the idea of expanding beyond groceries.
Thanks again!
I loved your webcast. Thank you!
I’m halfway through this video and have wanted to stand up and say “YEAH!” at least 6 times, lol. EXCELLENT video! Finally a voice of reason!
we have a family meals/recipes binder too
It gets used more than any other cook books we had so except for about 3, I donated all of our cookbooks to the library and cleared out the bookshelves.
I’m going to look for the freezer cooking video now.
LOVED the video!!!! I’m going to start that recipe binder and have started listing the items to stockpile. Thank you soooo much for the information!!!
I’m just starting to get on the couponing bandwagon. I’ve always used them but not to the degree that I’d like to. Enjoyed your video and look forward to watching more of them. Videos are so much more enjoyable than reading up on it! Thanks for taking the time for this!
