favorite filler item ideas

As a reminder, you must have at least as many items in a given transaction as the number of manufacturer coupons you’re presenting. And it’s important to note that your Register Rewards are treated as manufacturers’ coupons. So if you head to check out with one item, a coupon and a Register Reward, the register won’t accept both. How to remedy this? Simply buy a small “filler item” to balance your transaction. Again…make sure you at least have as many items as manufacturers’ coupons. Store coupons thankfully do NOT count!

Best bets for this week:
Nestle Bars $0.39
Big Roll Toilet Paper $0.50 in-ad coupon (limit 4)
Look for clearance items on an end-cap in cosmetics
Look for small garden-related items (seeds, maybe?)
Look for small food items – I like the instant coffee packets – the Royal Gelatin also works
Looks for single pencils & cheap stationery items
Look for Walgreens water bottles priced at $0.49! My store had these near the diabetic section (towards the pharmacy). They were on a shelf and filled with first aid items.

I just got back from Walgreens. I have to say I seldom shop there b/c its hard to juggle all the stores, not to mention I normally have my 3 year old with me. But today I got to go by myself and got some great deals.
I had them check to see if facial bars were in stock at the 38th street one as there was only one on the shelf. The manager said that most stores in the area were sold out or low, except for the store in Vancouver.

But there Acne face washes were on sale for $4.86 and I used $1.50 coupons from last months safeway coupon book.

Hi Keana,
Do you know which store in Vancouver they were talking about. Everytime I go they are out. I have been to 2 different ones two times this last week and then again today.
Thanks

Walgreens is on FIRE this week! I just got;

4 Nivea Body washes
3 Gillette Fusion Razors
2 Listerine Whitening Rinse
2 Reach Tooth brushes
1 Crest Pro-Health tooth paste
2 Nestle candies (filler items)

bottom line- they paid me $4.88!

The manager did not tell me what Vancouver store. Sounds like they check stock at other stores from any other store so maybe go in to your local wags and have them check.

Also, when I went to the 6th and Stevens WAGS yesterday their Neutrogena face wash was not marked down as much as the 38th streets one of $4.86. It could have been just an error, but the prices between the two places on other items were different as well.
