Leave Chase, get steak dinner

According to The Consumerist, a Seattle bar owner will give you a free steak dinner…if you close your account with Chase.

He owns the Twilight Exit on East Cherry Street and is so fed up with how he was treated by Chase, he came up with this promotion. I’m honestly not sure if it will do much damage to Chase, but if nothing else, it’s sure put his bar on the map, no?

There are additional details on this quirky freebie over at Centsible in Seattle!

Would you change banks for a free steak dinner?

We recently switches most of our accounts from Chase to BECU. We have a couple of accounts with like $5 left in them we’ve been meaning to close. Sounds like the perfect motivation! Thanks!

Good luck to this guy! We had a HORRIBLE experience with Chase after being loyal customers with WaMu for almost 20 years… just closed down the accounts yesterday and the mngr told us that he is hearing complaints on a regular basis. Too bad the free steak dinner is a 2 hour drive for me or I’d do it! ;-)

I told my Mom to close it because of all the mistakes they made since they took over WA Mutual. Well, after they lost 10k and after she found out that 25$ fee for her automatic transfer of her retirement check was going on, she switched. Keep an eye on your Parent’s accounts for them once and a while!

I would, but it helps that we’ve been meaning to close our accounts there anyways. As soon as we can get a good recommendation for a business bank we will be switching. I’ll think I’ll read up on his terms! Might be a good date night dinner!
