Can I start this post with a “neener, neener, neener told you so?”
What’s that about? Check out the top page of the Walgreens ad: “Sale! $0.19 School Supplies.” OK so maybe no one was arguing with me, but I never waste an opportunity to toot my own horn.
Horn tooting over. Time for the deals…which by the way seem kind of sleepy to me. I’d stick to Rite Aid this week.

favorite filler item ideas
As a reminder, you must have at least as many items in a given transaction as the number of manufacturer coupons you’re presenting. And it’s important to note that your Register Rewards are treated as manufacturers’ coupons. So if you head to check out with one item, a coupon and a Register Reward, the register won’t accept both. How to remedy this? Simply buy a small “filler item” to balance your transaction. Again…make sure you at least have as many items as manufacturers’ coupons. Store coupons thankfully do NOT count!
Best bets for this week:
School Supplies $0.19
Van Camp Baked Beans or Vienna Sausage $0.50 each with in-ad coupon (limit 4)
Walgreens Aspirin $0.49 each with in-ad coupon (limit 3)
Walgreens First Aid – Hydrogen Peroxide or Epsom Salt $0.50 each with in-ad coupon (limit 4)
Look for small, seasonal decorations
Look for small food items – I like the instant coffee packets – the Royal Gelatin also works
Looks for single pencils & cheap stationery items
Look for Walgreens water bottles priced at $0.49! My store had these near the diabetic section (towards the pharmacy). They were on a shelf and filled with first aid items. I also recently saw them near checkout.

Lindsay olive coupon is NOT for the kind in the sale – is only for the reclosable packaging. Let’s keep everyone honest and remove that item, thanks.
I believe that coupon says ANY
The facebook coupon is for recloseable olives
Here’s the exact wording: “Buy any Lindsay Re-closeables Item and Get a Second One Free”
Angela, a little benefit of the doubt would have been nice on your part. I would never intentionally post a coupon knowing it was the wrong one.
According to the first screen, it did say $1 off ANY 2 which is how it has been for months. Only after your comment did I click through and realize they’d changed the wording. I hope you can see how I easily made this error.
Angela, it never dawned on me that you would have done so intentionally – I was only stating why I thought it should be removed. For what it’s worth, I’ve noticed this coupon referenced before on other sites, and after not being careful in reviewing it and getting turned down at the checkstand, I’ve since requested that it not be referenced on other sites as well… so far you’re the only one to actually pull it!
Hey, I wish it DID work as I love olives!
Thanks for coming back and clarifying. The part of your comment “let’s keep everyone honest” bothered me most because it seemed to suggest I was encouraging my readers do otherwise.
In case you’re unaware, I take a pretty strong ethics stance…you can access my ethics policy here: http://thecouponproject.com/coupon-ethics
Thanks for bringing the issue to my attention, coupon has been removed.
I’m not sure where I saw the link to your ethics post, but I read it (and discovered your site) today. I am very impressed by the posts I’ve read so far, and I like that you give quick guidelines within the deals post; I now know where to point my friends who are new to couponing!
Thank you very much! Let me know if you ever have questions…I try to be pretty responsive to any questions that crop up in the comments or on my Facebook page.
