A couple home decor finds at Fred Meyer

This week I’ve been tackling a couple “high clutter areas” in our home:

1) the kids’ art stuff. They have a table and chair set that they do art with in the kitchen, but no set place to store their supplies. They usually end up…everywhere.

2) our family room. We like to watch movies and play video games and admittedly, this stuff gets everywhere too. I want our family room to be a place where we can come and do other things (you know, like talk?), and have it be a tidy, organized, and cozy space.

I noticed that Fred Meyer had a 25% off Everyday Living furniture coupon in this week’s ad (it’s good through Wednesday). AND there was a 10% off home Extra Bonus Coupon (also in the ad). Guess what? I was able to stack these!

Here’s what I did:

For the kids’ space, I bought this mini bookshelf. It came fully assembled. You’ll have to forgive me, I completely lost the receipt! But it was $39 before coupons, so I’m guessing I ended up paying about $25 for it! I was thrilled.

And see the baskets? Those were on sale too! The cloth organizers with the labels were just $3.99 each, and the cute tin pails were half off in the basket organizer section ($2.49 each after discount). PLUS, I was able to use the 10% off home coupon on everything PLUS I was able to use the $2-off-$2 Storage Rewards coupon I received in the mail! SCORE!!

So here was my second find at Fred Meyer:

Again, I’m KICKING myself that I lost that receipt!! But I can tell you it was somewhere in the vicinity of $29-$35 before coupons. Because it was from the Everyday Living brand, I was able to use both the 25% and 10% off coupons! So I’m guessing I got it for around $20 or less?

We actually didn’t have ANY tables in our family room, so now we finally have a drawer for the remote and a surface to set a cup of coffee! (It’s the simple things, right?)

I’m loving the look of the baskets these days. And there were many that were half off down the basket aisle at Fred Meyer! Just be sure to use your 10% off Extra Bonus coupon on top of it to score some sweet deals!

It’s amazing how tidying up even just a couple “hot clutter spots” in your home can make such a huge difference! AND, I’ve been inspired to declutter and organize even more. Today, I ended up getting rid of TONS of DVD cases and moved the discs to a binder instead. So much tidier!

Want to get in on some of these deals?

Look for the 25% off Everyday Living coupon in your ad or in the stores. It’s good through Wednesday only.
Look for the 10% off Home Extra Bonus coupon in your ad or in the stores. It’s good through Saturday.

And if you’re planning a trip, see what else is on sale at Fred Meyer this week.

OMG, soooo cute! Come tackle my family room; it’s henious.

I got some artwork today that I ordered from West Elm. It was actually relatively inexpensive, big enough to fill a major wall in our entryway, & had free shipping. Serious bang for the buck! Now I just have to get my hubby to hang them. :)

I have that exact same table!! We actually have 2 of them, we are using them as night stands in our bedroom. Doesn’t it feel great to get organized?

Absolutely!! I’m tempted to go back and buy more…but I probably should hold off. ;) I think I’ve caught the home organization/decorating bug.

Thanks for this post!! I was able to stop in to my local fred meyer and got the bigger shelf that matches the one you got (originally $54.99) it was on sale for $49.99 then I was able to use both the 25% and 10% coupons so I paid about $34.00 for it. I also got 2 baskets to go on the shelf that were originally $9.99 each for $6.60 each. Many of their plastic storage bins were also on sale and since the 10% bonus coupon was for all “home” items, I got the discount on all of them as well so I stocked up on containers for my kids toys. Thanks for the heads up, this was great!
