Albertsons deals 8/11 – 8/17

It looks like there are a few decent deals this week, plus a General Mills promotion. What’s more, Fistful of Coupons has confirmed we should be expecting double coupons in this Sunday’s paper. My advice? Use the next few days to plan your trip(s), and then head to the store on Sunday – Tuesday to shop! I do recommend printing any coupons you plan to use now before they go!

General Mills Promotion

The promotion is pretty simple. Buy ANY 10 participating products and you will save $5 instantly – so $0.50 per item. In my past experience with similar promotions, I got the discount for each time I did the deal in the transaction. For instance, if I wanted to buy 20 items, I should see a total savings of $10. You may want to double-check with your cashier before check out though. Whatever you do, make sure you remember to buy in multiples of 10! (I always check and double-check!) That being said, you might find it beneficial to run them as separate transactions if your store lets you use more than one set of three double coupons per day.

My prices are AFTER the $5 (or $0.50/item) promotional discount has been applied. Some of these are pretty terrific prices – coupons or not. I’ve highlighted my favorite stock up deals for you in red.

While I was at Albertsons yesterday I noticed that tons of the Betty Crocker potatoes had $1/2 peelies on them! something to keep an eye out for. I forgot to look to see if they could be doubled before I went to check out but potentially a hot deal!

In the Portland ad the boxes of 20oz Bisquick are $1 and there’s a manuf coupon from 8/8 GM .50/1 that makes them $.50, after using a doubler…FREE Bisquick. I opted to pay for mine yesterday because I just know my store will be clean out of these by Sunday.

From what I hear, there is a cat running on nature valley granola bars and the betty crocker fruit snacks. Buy 5 of each, use 3 doubles, and you have them all nearly free (not sure if the nut clusters trigger the cat, but that would be awesome!) Also the $1/1 nut clusters from 8/8 gm makes them free after doubles, and the $1/1 go gurt printable from yoplait.com makes those free too! My head is seriously spinning with the possibilities….

At my local Albertsons store, they will not take the B1G1 coupon for SOBE. They have explained that they will not accept an electronic coupon for a free item.

That’s ridiculous IMHO. It’s not a free coupon…it’s a BUY ONE, get one free. Very different! Has anyone else experienced this?

Reply

Lisa August 12, 2010 at 10:28 am

Yes! Mine told me the same thing, I tried explaining the difference but no go.

Hmmm. Weird. I may email Albertsons and see if I can get a response. However, I’m guessing this just may be up to individual stores to decide.

I also asked about this and they said it was because of so much fraud with b1g1 and free coupons that the cannot except them, even free ones Ive received from companies. Bummer

OK, I just sent an email to corporate Albertsons and will do my best to get an official answer on this. I’m honestly…surprised.

There’s a printable yoplait delights coupon for $1 off. You can find the link on hip2save.com so that’s make them free after doublers. Just wanted you all to know.

At my Albertson’s in Burien the Muir Glenn canned tomatoes are only $1. There’s a 75 cent coupon currently out which makes them $.25 or free with a doubler come Sunday.

Just did my shopping at albertsons. Spent 43.30 and saved 63.64.
One deal idea I took advantage of was the cereal, I bought 3 boxes totalling 4.50 there was recently a coupon for $1/3 plus a catalina for $1.5/3 and doubling the first made it .33 a box for cereal, fantastic deal. Alot of the products in the general mills special has had a coupon recently. Check it out.
