HOT!! Kraft Catalina Deal!
Make sure to read up on a hot Kraft Catalina deal at Coupon Connections NW!!

* A couple of you know how much I love Quaker and notified me about this sale. In general, the best time to stock up on Quaker is late January/early February. If you recall, many of these Quaker items were $1 each – NO LIMIT and NO COUPON. This meant you could really stock up and you could use coupons. Many of us were getting instant oatmeal and granola bars for free. Quaker does usually do a “softer sale” in September, just around the time for back-to-school. I believe that’s what we’re seeing here. Please note though, it’s still cheaper for me to buy old fashioned oatmeal for $0.48/lb in bulk bin at Winco!

I’m confused about the prices you show on the Quaker deal. My local ad shows the price as $1.20 each after the coupon. I didn’t realize the price differs so much.

My ad shows some products as $1, others at $1.60

I’m Still tripping over boxes of instant oatmeal from last year!

Angela, I wanted to ask if you had heard that Fred Meyer is no longer allowing ecoupons and paper coupons to be used together.
I read this on QueenBee, but I’m not sure who her source was.

Also, a heads-up that I got an email with a 10/50 savings pass from FM. It Did say to combine it with their other coupons, but I haven’t read the small print yet.

Yes I heard that and believe that to be correct. However, please note I’ve had some reservations for some time now on posting deals that combine manufacturer’s paper coupons and ecoupons and have not done so. But I do think it’s “official” now. Frugal Chic Living also had a link up.

HeHeHe! Me too, Meg! My husband had complained that I never bought him Cap’n Crunch, his favorite cereal. It was never on sale, I told him. When Cap’n Crunch was on sale earlier this year I stocked up on what seemed like a generous but reasonable supply. I wish I knew how many I bought because I still have 7 boxes left. They expired Jun 30. Eew! He is still okay eating them but I will have a little more restraint next time.

On the other hand, I bought 30 boxes of granola bars (I remember that!) and ran out incredibly fast. It might be nuts, but I am considering buying 30-50 more. My guess is we will go through them in time to buy more in Feb. I just wish there were some good Quaker coupons to go with this deal.

PS We like the peanut butter/chocolate Protein bars (8 count) and all flavors of Dipps (chocolate coated) (also 8 ct; the regular boxes of chewy bars are 10 ct). The Dipps taste so decadent and satisfy my chocolate craving but have only 140 or 150 calories. And they go so well with coffee…mmm!

Thanks for the confirmation.

I try really hard to follow the rules, but it can be hard when there is sometimes conflicting information.

My hope is that with couponing becoming so popular, Every store will have one, clear policy that all stores follow.
Maybe a pipe dream! Speaking of which, I just read on My Frugal Adventures that there is a new Walgreen’s policy, and it looks very coupon friendly!

Meg, I couldn’t agree with you more! I WISH stores would do a better job of spelling these things out for customers!! It would make it so much easier for everyone. Where matters are gray, I tend to run conservative, but it’s hard to fault folks when there aren’t hard-and-fast policies available.

I heard that about Walgreens too. I’ll check into it.

Walgreens coupon policy is confirmed and it’s awesome! They even specify that you can use 2 coupons on a BOGO sale. They also clear up that the cashier CAN value a coupon down to the price of an item. For instance, if the item is $3.99 and you have a $4/1 cp some cashiers wouldn’t let you use the coupon. Now you can whip out their policy and get the item for free without any argument or managers! Yay!
