Fix, Freeze and Feast (one of my very favorite cookbooks) has an excellent method for cooking boneless country-style ribs and making them oh-so-tender. They also have different sauce recipes, but I recently had some my friend Susan cooked up and they were better than the recipes in the book. Her “secret” BBQ sauce? A bottle of Kraft BBQ sauce! Go figure.
First, take two pounds of country-style boneless ribs. (I accidentally purchased bone-in over the weekend, but the recipe still worked.) I like to trim off any excessive portions of fat (but a little is sure good, isn’t it?)
Throw the ribs into a large stockpot and let simmer for an hour. This will help make them nice and tender!
Then, you’re going to place the ribs into an ungreased baking pan, like so:
This is the part when you cover the ribs with the sauce of your choice. I used Sweet Baby Ray’s. It was free at Albertsons this summer so it was a good choice for me! You could use your favorite commercially-prepared sauce, or your secret family recipe. Whatever floats your boat.
Now the ribs go into a 350-degree oven for an hour. And every 15 minutes, you are going to baste the ribs in the sauce.
After two hours of lovingly cooking your ribs, they are finally ready to eat!
What could you serve with ribs? LOTS of stuff…fresh salad, corn on the cob, baked beans, potato salad, mashed or baked potatoes, steak fries, you name it.
I also found the leftovers were very tasty thinned slicely and added to a hoagie with cheddar. You could also add them to the top of a salad.
I should mention that my friend Anber (of Coupon Connections NW ) purchased Fix, Freeze, Feast via Amazon over the weekend and a $5 promotional code was applied to her order! We aren’t sure why this happened, but I wanted to mention it in case anyone had been thinking of purchasing a copy.

I absolutely LOVE ribs smothered in sweet baby rays! We did this a couple weeks ago when the country style ribs were only .79 a pound at Fred Meyer! Yumm!
