November 2010

My friend Melomomma reminded me of a great Starbucks promotion that hits tomorrow.

Starting tomorrow, Starbucks will have “12 Days of Sharing.” You will receive a text for each day for 12 days! Just text 12DAYS to 29943 to participate! As you might expect, text messaging fees may apply.

I can’t say what the offers will include, but let’s hope for some good ones.

I got the most wonderful email in my inbox this morning. I asked the sender if I could share it with you because I found it so inspiring!

If you’ve been on the fence about couponing, I hope you’ll take a minute to read what she’s said…

**********************

Hi Angela,

It’s me again!  Now that I’ve truly been bitten by the “coupon bug”, I thought I’d just share a few quick victories…

The weekend before T’giving I scored lots of coupons by just going to my local Starbucks and picking up the Sunday inserts everyone was throwing out – sweet!  I even asked someone reading a paper at McDonald’s if I could have his inserts. I am truly shameless…   Then I went on to my BIG GOAL and that  was to get something (basically anything) for free because, well, just because I knew it was possible. So off I went to my local grocery and drug stores (Fred Meyer, Albertsons, Walgreens) where I proceeded to get 2 FREE jars of gravy, a FREE roast, butter for $.50, pasta sauce for $.45, gift wrap (the good kind) for $1per roll and the list goes on!  Wow!!  I am now officially addicted to couponing…

While I am careful to make sure items are things I need, I’m slowly building up my downstairs pantry which my 8yr. old daughter has renamed “The Store”.  I’ll tell her I need something and we go down to get it but not before she magically turns into a grocery clerk who asks me for my card first– too cute.

Thank you for this fun, new hobby and great way to save money.  See you at the stores!

P.S.  Forget world peace – my new goal is that free toothpaste you talked about.  Hmmm…

Welcome, Wendy, to the wonderful world of couponing! Thanks for sharing your story!

There is a HOT deal today on Entertainment Books!

Here’s how to take advantage:

:: Log onto your Ebates account (or start a new one)!
:: Search for Entertainment.com.
:: Click the link that reads “50% cash back” (Cyber Monday sale)
:: Proceed as normal with your shopping.

For Cyber Monday (today), books are discounted 30% off AND free shipping. The Pierce County Book is currently $24.50. So if you purchased that, you’d pay $24.50 today, but then receive $12.50 in your Ebates account in a couple days. If you’re new to Ebates, you’ll receive an additional $5 just for signing up! That means you could score an Entertainment Book for as low as $7.50 after cash back!

Then, you’ll receive the cash back via PayPal on their next payout day (my account is showing that as being February 15, 2011). For more information how Ebates works, read this post.
