Russell Kids’ Bowling Tips & Kids Bowl Free Giveaway!

In honor of the Kids Bowl Free program I recently shared (which by the way, you need to sign up for if you haven’t yet!), I decided to take my kiddos bowling yesterday. They’ve bowled a few times now, so they’re old pros, and they thought they’d show you how it’s done.

Tip One: bowling is fun, so no sad faces! Make sure to find the closest participating alley so you can enjoy the fun that much sooner, too.

Tip Two. Learn proper bowling technique. It will help you improve your bowling score. (And if that doesn’t work, make sure to request a lane with gutter bumpers.)

Tip Three. While waiting for your ball to make contact with the pins, do a cha-cha. It’s a great way to pass the time and you’ll look pretty cute, too.

Tip Four. Don’t cross the foul line! You might end up biting your nails in suspense as you watch your little sister take the lead….

Tip Five. Always bowl with pizzazz. It might make that ball feel inclined to knocking down just a few extra pins.

Tip Six. Remember, it’s just a game. Whether you win or lose, you’ll have a great time. And because you can bowl free all summer long, you’ll have plenty of time to improve your game.

How Kids Bowl Free Works

All silliness aside, if you missed my earlier post, I just want to state what an awesome program Kids Bowl Free is! As the name implies, it’s a free program that allows your children aged 15 and under to bowl two free games every day this summer!

Here’s how it works:

  • Find a local participating bowling alley and register for a free account.
  • If you wish, sign up for a family pass ($24.95) – this will allow up to four adults (or teens over 15) to play two games everyday too!
  • Watch your email each Sunday for the bowling pass coupons. You will need to print and bring these with you.
  • Please note that you will still have to pay for shoe rentals (or bring your own bowling shoes).

To help one lucky Coupon Project family out there, today I’m giving away a family bowling pass! Here’s how…

Enter the Giveaway

I’m pleased to offer one lucky Coupon Project reader a family bowling pass valued at $24.95! This means that you’ll be able to join your kids this summer and up to 4 adults (or teens over 15) will be able to play 2 free bowling games everyday at the participating bowling center of your choice.

To enter, all you need to do is leave a comment on this blog. I’d love to hear what you like about this program, or a fun bowling tip or story you have. Leave only one comment per person, please.

Please note that the winner will need to sign up for a FREE Kids Bowl Free account, so I’d encourage you to do that now!

The winner will be randomly selected on Wednesday, May 30th 12pm PST.

Good luck!

We participated in kids bowl free last year…it’s a great way to escape the heat in the summer!

Thanks for the chance!

We love bowling! With a family of 8, we don’t get to go that often, but my children are always asking to go. Plus, living in Western WA where it rains so much, bowling is a great family activity for us.

We love bowling and the kids bowl free program makes it so much more affordable.

The nearest kids bowl free location is about 1/2 hour away, but it’s totally worth it for a good family activity!

We did the Kids Bowl Free program last year and my kids had such a great time. I’d love to be able to bowl with them every time this year. Thanks!

My 7-year-old just went bowling for the first time for a birthday party and loved it! I see a lot of bowling in our future this summer!

My 3kids at the time loved going bowling about 2years ago when I signed up last time. Now that I have 4 kids and the summer approching this would be a great way to keep them entertained and busy.

I’m excited to try this program out this summer. I was thinking about buying a family pass, seems like a great deal!

We went once last year! This time I signed up for Chalet bowl….it is in the neighborhood for my parents….just wish there was one in Renton!

Both my 10 year-old daughter and 5 year-old grandson love to bowl. I will be watching the grandson most of the summer so it would really be nice to have a bowling pass to occupy them.

We always pick funny names for score keeping. For the past decade I’ve been “Dr. Zaius” from Planet of the Apes.

My 8 year old son LOVES bowling. In fact, he participated in a junior league and he had such a blast. We signed him up for Kids Bowl Free and have already gone twice, but would love to win the family pass so we can all bowl together!!

We love to bowl with our neighbor kiddo Jack. Jack uses a power wheelchair and is a mean bowler! Our local alley has an adaptive ramp that my kids place his ball on at the head of the lane. Then back up! He can use his wheelchair to ‘launch’ the ball down the lane. Truly a fun activity that ALL can enjoy! Thanks for your posting about Kids Bowl free!

We just took our two toddlers bowling for the first time a couple weeks ago and it was a blast! We can’t wait to take them back again and this kids bowl free program is perfect :)

Bowling used to be a part of the PE curriculum at our elementary school. The kids then took a field trip to the bowling alley to put their skills into action. We took part in the summer bowling program that year, but we haven’t been since. It’s about time to bowl again!

I’m excited to get the kids out to do this. I work 2nd shift and this is something we can do rain or shine before I go to work.

Would love to go with the kids this summer! Thanks for the giveaway!

We love escaping the heat for afternoon bowling. Thanks!

Trust me, you don’t want me to embarrass myself with bad bowling stories….If I told them I’d probably never be permitted to step foot in a bowling alley again!

Kait May 25, 2012 at 11:45 am

Thanks for sharing, great deal!

Stephanie Vargas May 25, 2012 at 7:48 pm
