July Post Series – Love: in a Jar

For the past several months now, I’ve been gearing up for a really special summer series. I’m in the process of putting the final touches on it, and I wanted to give you a teaser today!

With summer here, our thoughts turn to gardening and canning, eating fresh & flavorful meals, and enjoying the outdoors. It’s also a time to spruce up your home with fresh-cut flowers, and beachy objects. I wanted to capture the clean, bright, and delicious aspects of summer and bottle them up for you in a fun, inspiring series. The result? Love: in a Jar!

In this 10-part series, I’ll be sharing different ways you can use jars: canning and mason jars, along with repurposing jars you may already have laying around. We’ll be cooking, crafting, and collecting. Some of the posts will be simple ideas you can accomplish in an hour or an afternoon, while others will be a labor of love. Whether or not you’ve ever canned or consider yourself a crafter, I hope you’ll find something you can takeaway to make your life and home a little more beautiful.

I’m also excited to announce Fred Meyer as my sponsor for this series! They have graciously furnished me with store credit to help bring this series to life. If you’ve not poked around your Fred Meyer – and I do mean, really poked around – you need to do so! Whether you need quality food ingredients, canning supplies and jars, spray paint, Mod Podge, yarn, baskets, crafting supplies, whatever – chances are you’ll find it at Fred Meyer! In each of my posts, you’ll see specifically which items I found on Fred Meyer shelves to complete the project. (And a huge, heart felt THANK YOU to Fred Meyer for their generosity and support of this series! They rock!)

Join me Monday for my first post in the series Love: in a Jar!

Will this include a “how to can” portion? It has been years since I have done it and would really like to do some homemade salsa this season.

I will certainly touch on it, though I don’t have plans for a post on “how to can” for this series, specifically. (That doesn’t mean something couldn’t be worked in though!) I’ve only recently figured out how to do this myself, so I may include some handy reference points in the posts that specifically involve canning. Note: most of the posts do NOT involve canning. ;)
