Here are the best deals I found for the week of July 11-17 at Safeway. If you’re new to shopping at Safeway, be sure to familiarize yourself with their coupon policy and be sure to read my post on how Safeway’s Just4U program works!
Please remember that I’m blogging out of the Seattle/Tacoma area. If you live in a different region, be sure to double check your local ad before heading out the door so that you’re not caught off guard by occasional, regional price differences.
I’ve highlighted my favorite deals in red.

Ok I am just wondering if you can use the just4u and coupons?
It depends. If the Just4U is a coupon (such as $1 off an item) – it is a manufacturer coupon in which case, no you could not also use a paper coupon. If it’s a pricepoint (like $2.19 for milk, no limit) – then it’s a store discount so you could use a paper coupon also. Does that make sense? If you click through my link at the top of the post, there is more information on that topic.
ya! thx 4 safeway match ups.
so i read your list & matched all my coupons & stopped at safeway on my way home at went to one of my normal cashiers & she was ringing my stuff up and saw my printed coupons on the counter & said you know we don’t take printed coupons anymore right? i said no i didn’t she said they changed policy a couple weeks ago, so i pulled the stuff i was buying with printed coupons and had the put it back, i read the coupon policy on line this morning and it says if the ring up they will take them but its at there discresion, so im going to see if the safeway by my work will take them at my lunch, but i was very sad
I know some stores stopped accepting them, i just thought that was so weird.
I’m so sorry you had that experience, Liz! Talk about frustrating
. I have not yet had either of the Safeways closest to me refuse any of my coupons (from either inserts or printed), so I hope it’s not a trend that is spreading to all of their stores. I wonder if it would be helpful to write to or call their corporate offices for {hopefully} more accurate guidance. What do you think, Angela?
