Grocery Outlet Deal Finds for September & (2) $25 Gift Card Giveaway!

Guess what time it is? If you guessed “time for a Grocery Outlet post and giveaway?” you’re correct!

I just so happened to have been in the area last weekend and so off we stopped into Grocery Outlet – kids and all. I think my kids are going to have some rather interesting childhood memories of going into stores and taking photos of food and groceries. They can also sing the Grocery Outlet jingle like nobody’s business. Love my littles.

Onto the deals! Now remember, what you’ll see today is what I found at my South Tacoma store on Saturday. Each store is independently owned and operated, so what you find at your store may vary.

Pictured above, ornamental gourds for $0.50 each

Dulce de Leche Cheerios, $1.49

V8 Fusion Sparkling 4 pack, $1.49
(This is an advertised deal – good through today ONLY)

The beauty section of Grocery Outlet is one of THE best kept secrets for inexpensive, quality beauty care items! Even if you don’t shop Grocery Outlet for food, consider stopping by just to see what kind of amazing skin care items you can find. I’m always stunned.

This section could also be a source of beautiful gifts, for less:

Boxed Olive Oil Soap Set, for $8.99

Red or Green Grapes Container, 2 lb for $1.99
(This is an advertised deal – through today only!)

What I love about Grocery Outlet’s produce is that they sell everything by the unit, not the weight. This means that there are no surprises at checkout!

A few other deals in produce I noted:

Corn, $0.20 each

Limes, $0.20 each

Kiwi, 6 for $1.99

Green Peppers, $0.50 (and Red Peppers for $0.59)

Zucchini, for $0.50 each

Greens (such as Collards), for $0.99/bunch

Big Bag of Organic Veggies, for $2.99

Keep your eyes peeled for organic, gluten-free, vegetarian, and dairy-free items throughout the store! Grocery Outlet has done a really good job of working to buy more of these deals to put in their stores. I’m always delighted to find a deal like this…

So Delicious Lemonade Sorbet, $1.99

And my kids were really excited to see this…

My store has been selling the individual popsicles for awhile now.

Blue Brie Wedge, for $2.99

Of course, the Grocery Outlet cheese section never fails to disappoint!

Alouette Garlic & Herbs Light Spread, for $0.99

Boursin Spread, for $1.99

I could go on and on and fill this post with JUST cheese. But you get the point. If you like cheese, get thee to Grocery Outlet!

Another one of my most favorite sections of Grocery Outlet…the wine department. I cannot recommend it enough! I understand that when you’re on a budget, niceties like a glass of wine are the first things to go. However, at Grocery Outlet, you might find that you can squeeze it in even on a tight grocery budget. A particularly good time to buy wine is in the fall and spring during the weeks they run 20% off ALL wine. You can often snag up bottles for $2 OR LESS.

Pol Remy Brut Sparkling Wine, for $6.99

Cliff Creek Syrah, for $3.99 (save up to $21!!)

Uncle Ben’s Brown Rice, for $0.99 = I bought a couple boxes of these; great price!

Chicken Broth, 32 oz, for $0.99

A few last notables:

Kashi Heart to Heart Cereal, still at $1.49

The Fancy Salts in Jars, still at $2.99 (elsewhere $14!) = I bought the Himalayan Pink this time!

Hellman Sandwich Spread, for $0.99

Small Cut Pasta, still at $0.39

Danimals Cups, $0.33 each

Last weekend, I spent $18 and saved $63.93! My store has a great opportunity to “win what you save!” Just tear off the bottom portion of your receipt highlighting your savings and put your contact information on the back.

Finally, in case you missed it, make sure to check out my post about Grocery Outlet’s recent ad enhancements which include a new mobile site!

New to Grocery Outlet? Remember they are a different kind of grocery store, offering deep discounts on food through relationships they have with stores and manufacturers. Because of this, the manufacturers do not permit customers to redeem coupons at Grocery Outlet. However, Grocery Outlet does put out store coupons from time to time. For more information, please read my initial review trip from last summer as well as my trip to Berkeley last fall where I met with the Grocery Outlet corporate team.

You can get some pretty “fancy” items at GO like cheese, spices and salon type hair products.

Gotta say I love their wine! Great prices AND selection. Pair it with some cheese and crackers and I’ve got a romantic picnic or dinner in (without the kids!).

Great giveaway!

You never know what great deal you will find. On my last trip I found pineapples actually from Hawaii.

Denise September 11, 2012 at 9:06 pm

I have shopped there the past 2 weeks. There are coupons that come in a local booklet once a month and I was able to save $5 off $50! I like the produce like the bananas and the bag of little avocados. I also found organic canned beans for a great price.

Sheena September 11, 2012 at 9:13 pm

I am interested in checking out the cheese now after reading your post. Yum!

I haven’t shopped at Grocery Outlet since my older children (now out of the house) were younger. Now with a little one again I am ready to go back! This time with a healthier mindset. :)

Wow! Those are some good deals. The only time I’ve gone to Grocery Outlet, I brought a Winco receipt with me and wasn’t able to beat Winco’s prices. Maybe the one by me isn’t as cool as yours? Would like to try them again though.

Terry September 14, 2012 at 3:29 pm

I love trying new cheese flavors and also wine. GO has such great prices on both!

Deanna G. September 14, 2012 at 8:00 pm

I love the great prices! I once found double packs of the big Red Baron pizzas for $3.99~!

Kathy September 15, 2012 at 7:14 pm

I love Grocery Outlet!

My favorite isles to check out are the fish, healthy&beauty, and the yogurt/dairy isle, and best of all the organic selection! Of course, you’re not always going to find a specific item you want, but that’s the whole point of these bargain markets; you go there and get creative, and I always go to whichover one I’m closest too since there are so many in my cities! I have been stocking up on Jennie O Lean Ground Turkey because it’s the cheapest I have seen it, 3.99 / package! Anyway, everyone should check out the outlet at least once…. you won’t regret going there and saving!

Lastly, thank’s for the giveaway! :)
