Grocery Outlet: Silk, Oregon Chai, Amy’s & More!

I was at my Grocery Outlet store last weekend “doing research” (I love my job!), when I stumbled on the following deals. Of course, I had to share them with you!

Do remember that what you find at your store may vary.

Fig Bars, $0.50
These dairy-free treats are delicious! I always have to grab one if I find them in my store.

Organic Chocolate, $1.99
It might surprise you, but Grocery Outlet is a GREAT place to find organic food items for less! Over the past few years, they’ve really worked to step up the variety and quality of organic foods offered. Grocery Outlet understands that “going organic” is not a passing trend, that it’s a lifestyle for many people, so you can count on always finding some organic choices at your store!

Snap Pea Crisps, $0.33 each
Wouldn’t these make an inexpensive, fun snack to put in your child’s lunch or to tote to work?

Land O’ Lakes Vanilla Yogurt, big tub – $0.99
This was running very close to date, hence the deep discount, but you know what? I think it’d be PERFECT for the make-ahead smoothies recipe I shared with you where you freeze the yogurt into ice cube trays!

Halloween-themed cookies, $0.99
I actually picked up a couple of these for my son’s soccer snack bag, along with some cut up carrots, grapes, and string cheese. At $0.99, they were a fun addition!

Gourmet & Specialty Cheeses, $2.49
I don’t think I’ve ever been to Grocery Outlet and NOT seen some really special cheese on deep discount. You can almost always find imported cheeses, goat cheeses, fancy bries, etc.  If you’re looking to put together a wine & cheese party or a beautiful cheese spread for an appetizer platter, I should think Grocery Outlet would be a great place to make it happen for less.

Amy’s Thai Coconut Soup, $1.49 (Vegan)
I was really, REALLY excited to find this on sale! This is my absolute favorite Amy’s soup variety and it’s one of the lesser-sold varieties in the stores. (Who knows, maybe that’s exactly why it’s at Grocery Outlet?) It usually runs about $3 a can, so I was stoked to find it about half price today. Try it….it’s delicious!

Fair Trade Cane Sugar, $2.99
Seriously, Grocery Outlet just makes me smile when I find stuff like this! I’ve found gluten-free flours and mixes before on their baking aisle, too. I really think Grocery Outlet is doing a nice job of determining what people are interested in buying today and working to stock those items on their shelves. Keep it up guys!

Organic Oregon Chai, Peppermint, $1.49
Great price for this item and just in time for the holidays!

Kraft Mac ‘n Cheese, $0.79
Alright, so maybe this one isn’t so foodie or organic, but I share it to show you that Grocery Outlet often does have name-brand food items for less.

Frozen Peaches, 2 lb bag, $1.99
I thought this was a really good price for peaches! Pair it with the $0.99 vanilla yogurt above and a bunch of bananas for a buck or two, and you’ve got a week’s worth of smoothies for a song.

Amy’s Soy Macaroni & Cheese, $1.99
This is a fantastic price for this item; it’s usually about $4.

Silk Pumpkin Spice, $1.99
This year, I’ve greatly reduced my dairy (I primarily buy nut or coconut milks these days), so I’m more likely to shop the specialty section of my grocery store these days. I have to say, I can ALWAYS find great prices on non-dairy creamers and milks at Grocery Outlet! I think if you’re following a specialty diet, such as vegan or gluten-free, a trip to Grocery Outlet might well make you smile. It’s a great place to stop in and see what basics and treats you can find for less.

Martinelli’s Juices, $0.50
Not your standard apple, they had flavors such as acai pomegranate on sale. If you’ve ever wondered why you find varieties of product you don’t at other stores, it could well be that the other stores had problems selling it, or that the manufacturer decided to not sell those products for some reason or other. There is almost always a ‘story’ to the items you’ll find on discount at Grocery Outlet.

Downy, $1.99
Here’s another example of a product that likely has a “story.” These bottles of Downy are perfectly fine…but they’re in Spanish! Who knows how they arrived here, but I’m guessing they couldn’t be sold at a local Safeway or Albertsons. If you can read Spanish, or hey, if you’re familiar enough with this product so it doesn’t matter, you can snag it for less money than you’d pay elsewhere.

Anti-Aging Skin Products, $6.99
Some of the best bargains in the whole store? Are going to be found on the health & beauty aisle. You will almost ALWAYS find upscale anti-aging and beauty care products on deep, deep discount. I have personally found that their “elsewhere” prices are not inflated, either! This is a great aisle to look for gifts, too. I have found beautiful boxes of soaps, goat milk bubble bath, organic and eco-friendly bath care items, and more.

Check out their ad online to see what else is on sale this week, too!

If you like Grocery Outlet? Stay tuned for my post tomorrow for a special sale announcement and a gift card giveaway!

New to Grocery Outlet? Remember they are a different kind of grocery store, offering deep discounts on food through relationships they have with stores and manufacturers. Because of this, the manufacturers do not permit customers to redeem coupons at Grocery Outlet. However, Grocery Outlet does put out store coupons from time to time. For more information, please read my initial review trip from last summer as well as my trip to Berkeley last fall where I met with the Grocery Outlet corporate team.

I buy specialty cheeses and wine at grocery outlet all the time. It’s a great place to get appetizers for holiday gatherings. They usually have something in the frozen section that is good for a party. I usually stock up on wine when they have their wine sale. Then I have higher quality wine to server when we have people over. It is always worth a stop at Grocery Outlet because they always have milk bread and fresh produce so it’s not a wasted trip.
