I was recently contacted by the folks at Grocery Outlet to see if I’d be game to write a series of posts on their Bargainista Blog. Well, if you know me I love a few things: writing, Grocery Outlet, and having a good time. This opportunity met all those qualifications, so I agreed!
Even better, they let me choose the topic. To a writer, free creative reign is TOTAL AWESOMESAUCE.
After doing some brainstorming, I came up with the perfect idea. See you never really know what you’re going to find at Grocery Outlet. It might be a Bob Marley-themed drink for $0.50 or a European cake doused with amaretto. That’s what makes shopping there so fun and unexpected. So I decided to draw on the “treasure hunting” aspect of shopping at Grocery Outlet to solve a problem many of us regularly have: getting stuck in a dinner rut.
Each month for the next several months, I’ll be sharing how I used one fun item I found at Grocery Outlet to create a different recipe to get you out of your rut.
I’m pleased to share with you the first of my posts. The featured ingredient? Pasilla peppers. Head on over to Grocery Outlet to see how I turned them into a beautiful, nutritious meal for just $6.56.
What do you think of my idea? And, have you spotted any unusual items you think I should feature for an upcoming post at the Bargainista Blog?

Congratulations Angela!!! I love Grocery Outlet and I can’t wait to read your post on their Bargainista Blog.
I absolutely LOVE Grocery Outlet. I shop here first each week to see what interesting and new things I can find to make cooking more interesting. Whatever I can’t find at Grocery Outlet I pick up at another store. They have the best prices on yogurt, cheese and organic items. What I love is that I don’t have to worry about having coupons to know I’m getting a great deal. Congratulations on your guest post.
Congratulations! I love your weekly post on Fred Meyer. Will you do same for the Grocery Outlet? thanks
I do a once monthly post on Grocery Outlet, noting my finds. Note that they don’t always put out an ad.
congrats – I’ve never been inside a grocery outlet – closest one is 45 min away – next time I’m near one, I’ll be sure to stop in and have a look
Congratulations..I’m very excited about this new partnership and I plan to try this dish,it definitely will be something new for my family. I recently found great pesto at GO, maybe something with that as an ingredient?? and I still havent worked the goat cheese I found there into a meal.Maybe you could feature some great winter soups
cant wait to read..
Good ideas! One item I saw was artichoke pesto in my store and it was one of the 10 or so items I had initially considered for the first post. I think I have a pretty solid idea for another one…. I’m glad to have chosen a series idea that challenges my thinking and cooking abilities!
This ought to be fun! Congrats!
