*UPDATED! GOOD NEWS!* Target Toy Clearance: Should Happen Today (Jan 17th)

JenniferSavesatTarget

UPDATED: I am hearing several reports on this Facebook thread that stores have in fact moved toy clearance to 70%. Please feel free to comment there and/or on this post with what you’re finding at your store.

There was some speculation that the 70% off Target Toy Clearance was going to happen last Thursday, but it didn’t – that means there’s a darn good tootin’ chance it’s going to happen today. Please note that there is no way to be certain, but that this is only speculation from what’s happened in the past.

Remember that this means that select toys that have been at 50% clearance should be marked to 70%. This is not an advertised sale, so don’t expect to see anything about it in the ad or plastered on the windows when you walk up to the store.

There are two good ways to know if this is in fact happening: 1) visit your store and see and/or 2) check for comments on this post or The Coupon Project Facebook page to see what others are finding.

If it’s in fact happening today, you’ll want to book it on over to the store as the best items are usually cleaned out quite quickly. For more information, please check out my post on 70% off Target Toy Clearance when I thought it was going to happen earlier this month.

Finally, I want to encourage you if you can’t make this sale. There will be other ways to get screaming deals on toys. I personally haven’t shopped this sale in a couple years and yet I’ve managed to do the holidays and birthdays for my kids on a shoestring budget. If you do shop it – good luck. And I’d love for you to share photos of your trip with me at angela @ thecouponproject dot com to share.

Thanks, All Things Target!

I was at the Northgate Target on Tuesday and they were doing a TON of markdowns in the baby department. Lots and lots to choose from, so I bet toys are the same way today (I’ll try and check) deals and deals and deals to be found!

I agree with you – this is a great sale, but it’s OK to miss it. No need to freak out. :)

Last year I bought WAY too much at the sale in January and ended up donating most of it to Toys for Tots. I think it’s best to go in with a plan – make a list of who you need to shop for over the course of the year, then note which gifts go with which person. That way you don’t overbuy and you have a list to reference later.

The Sherwood, OR store is definitely on, with MOST toys on 70%. The Dr. Dreadfull was still at 50%, as well as the camping gear, etc, so didn’t worry about that stuff. I ended up with the Polly Pocket playhouse for $7.48, the Holiday Cabbage Patch doll for $11.98, the Hexbug slug for $3.88, Hot Wheels Experiment Labs rocket car for $7.78, and Eyespy video walkie-talkies (with a lithium battery! How much fun for camping!) for $20.98. Not a ton of stuff, but I was thrilled with the “bigger kid” toys.

As a sidenote, a lot of the performance wear went 70% off, too. I found a high impact C9 sports bra for $6.58, and a C9 tank top for the same price, too!
