I don’t often share recalls, but this one I felt was worth bringing to your attention since it’s an item many of you may have on hand in your refrigerators!
If you purchased Simple Truth Organic Spinach, it has been voluntarily recalled for a possible E.coli scare. Simple Truth is the store label organic brand sold at Kroger stores including Fred Meyer and QFC.
For more information on this and other Kroger recalls, you can visit Kroger’s website.
The spinach in question came from Taylor Farms and this recall also impacts spinach sold under the labels Central Market Organics, Marketside Organic, and Taylor Farms Organic. You can see all the UPCs impacted over at Food Safety News.
Obviously, if you have any of this spinach in your fridge, you should dispose of it and NOT consume it. I asked my contact at Fred Meyer what customers should do if they have purchase this item. I was told that you should be able to get a full refund from the Customer Service Desk with a receipt or with their Rewards Card. You do not need to bring the spinach in.

My FredMeyer has been out of this spinach for a few weeks. Maybe this is why?
Thanks so much for giving us this heads up! I had some in my fridge from Fred Meyer but luckily it’s not involved in the recall…still gotta wonder about it tho…
This recall is for the 5 oz. size only.
