Albertsons Stores Closing in Washington: Close-Out Sales & Additional Details

I recently shared with you the list of Albertsons stores in Washington slated to close by February 2013. Today, I received some additional information that may be of interest to you if you shop these stores.

Starting October 10th (this Wednesday), you can save up to 75% on select merchandise throughout these stores. As you might imagine, selection will vary by location and is while supplies last. I believe a few of you have notified me that your stores have already begun the markdown process.

Please note that as these stores begin to close, they will no longer honor regular weekly sales featured in the circular. Your store may or may not be accepting manufacturer’s coupons as well. Please inquire before making a trip out! There will be reduced operating hours at these stores too, of 8am to 8pm. The exact close dates of each store have not been made public, with the exception of the La Grande, Oregon store, which will be closing on October 13th.

Here are the stores that will be offering closing sales starting October 10th:

My hubby works at Albertson’s too we used to live in Las Vegas and they did and are still doing the same thing there too. We have heard that they are looking to sell off portions of the company and only retaining certain stores in one region. I’m sure we can expect more closures in the future probabally after the holiday’s as January starts a new quarter and is typically the time of year the stores don’t make much money if any. Please everyone be extra kind to these employees at all Albertson’s stores. They are union and just because there store isn’t one that will close does not mean that an employee will not lose their job as an employee with more senority from a closing store can bump them. It is a tough time for all.
