See all those kids’ clothes pictured at left? I bought the lot for under $10 (including tax!). HOW, you ask? I bought them a few months ago at Kidz Kaboodle during one of their monthly 25-cent sales. These sales run the last Friday and Saturday of the month. Which means this Friday and Saturday, you’ll have the chance to score some great deals yourself!

Here’s the scoop:

The last Friday and Saturday of each month, this little 6th Avenue store in Tacoma reserves a space next door to their store to discount TONS of baby and children’s clothing on sale for just 25-cents. Everything – and I do mean EVERYTHING – will be just 25 cents. You’ll find clothes, shoes, toys, and if you get there right when the door opens and are willing to push other shoppers out of the way, it’s possible to score a bicycle, stroller, or playpen. (I kid, it’s never OK to hit someone in a store.)

This sale is crazy. Prepare to go on a roller coaster ride of emotions ranging from bliss, annoyance, semi-panic, euphoria, and confusion. But if you get there early, you might just make out like a bandit like my friend Susan. I have a hunch that this month’s sale could be uber-crazy since we are so close to back to school.

For more about this sale, check out the Kidz Kaboodle website, and read up on my own interesting encounters with shopping this sale.

Have you shopped this sale? Any tips or advice you’d like to share?

There are some deep discounts on summer toys right now at Amazon.

Here are a few finds that stood out to me:

This classic Little Red Wagon is only $17.45 right now!! It’s normally $44.79 – so that’s 61% off. Plus, it’s eligible for free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

EDITED: please note if this is not clear, that this is a smaller size – perfect for kids to push their toys around. This is not the larger size wagon that you could push kids around in outside.

This Banzai Ocean Friends Poolwas $49.99, but right now it’s $14.98 (70% off!) and is eligible for free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

For smaller kids, this Sun Smart Butterfly Sunshade Pool is super cute! It was $29.99, but right now it’s just $9.98 (67% off). It is also eligible for free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

Find additional toys that are 70% off or more!

If you follow additional local blogs (as you should!), you may have noticed they’ve been posting up a storm about a pretty awesome Amazon diapers deal. Well, today a Facebook update from Frugal Living NW caught my eye, and I had to give this deal a try myself. I’m so glad I did! (And I’m even more glad I hadn’t redeemed any of my coupons until today!)

Here’s what I was able to do just a few short minutes ago:

Here’s how I worked this AWESOME diaper stock-up deal.

First, head to Amazon. They’re having a special on select diapers – when you sign up for their “Save and Subscribe” program you’ll save 30% off! Please note you can cancel this anytime after your first order ships.

Next, you’re going to need any/all the following orange coupons found in the following magazines:

::August Parents Magazine (coupon code starts with “A”)
::August Parenting Magazine (coupon code starts with “X”)
::September Parents Magazine (coupon code starts with “W”)

For some reason, I’ve been getting Parents for months now. I’ve never paid for this subscription, so who knows why I get it. But the good news for me? I had not one – but TWO coupon codes (one from August and one from September). And since they started with different letters, guess what? Yes, I was able to use BOTH coupon codes in my transaction above! And if you had all three unique codes, you should be able to stack all three!

UPDATE: As reader Sarah sagely pointed out in her comment below, the fine print on these coupons reads “one per customer.” I can confirm this is indeed what the fine print reads and I’m sorry I didn’t catch this glaring oversight before posting! So unfortunately this is a “do as I say and not as I did” scenario. If you have more than one coupon code? Please consider sharing the love. Leave a comment if you have one you won’t use and an email address where someone could contact you (please DO NOT post the code itself in the comments). I’m in the process of appeasing the Amazon gods for my error. Thank you Sarah for holding me and this site accountable. Everyone else? This is still a deal you should consider with a single 20% off code!

My advice if you don’t have any of these coupons? Ask around to see if anyone you know got the magazines and if they’d use the coupon. Or maybe call your local pediatrician’s office to see if they have it sitting in their waiting room. Or head to the store and BUY a September issue if you don’t get this magazine. Make sure it has the orange coupon inserted in the middle – it sounds like some “nice” people may be ripping them out without buying the magazine. Head over to Frugal Living NW to see what you’re looking for.

Even better, you will get FREE shipping when you use these coupon codes! Seriously, could this deal get any better?

For me, yes it can. A lot better. See I do this little thing called Swagbucks. I earn bucks simply by going my everyday web searches and by referring new folks (just like you!). I have then redeemed these for $5 Amazon gift certificates. I’ve been doing this for over a year now and I have a pretty nice Amazon account. So today when this deal popped up? I redeemed some of that credit and paid exactly NOTHING out of pocket! Get started with Swagbucks friends…NOW!!

TGIF

I had a great idea this morning.

Pack up the kids, some beach towels, magazines, snacks, shovels & buckets. Let the kids dig in the sand while Mommy lounged on the beach. Except, it didn’t work that way. They ended up wanting to swing at the park for most of the time. Oh well. Mommy sucked it up and we ended up having an enjoyable, impromptu day at the beach.

By the way, for all those non-locals out there, yes, we do have beaches in Washington. And yes, we do use them for some of the year.

Here are the back-to-school Fred Meyer deals for the week ahead. While Fred Meyer might not have the most competitive prices across the board, there are some nuggets of deals to be had – such as the 8-cent folders. Additionally, we should start receiving our Rewards coupons by mail soon – consider redeeming some of these to drive down the out-of-pocket cost of school supplies!

The rest of the Fred Meyer deals will be up tomorrow if I can manage it!
