Best Turkey Prices, Coupons & Deals
Once again, I’m going to do my best to round-up the best turkey prices at grocery stores I’m finding (Seattle/Tacoma area). It’s important to note that we’re still pretty early into the month and likely won’t see the best deals pop up for another week or two. However, I have noticed a few deals (particularly on holiday dinners) start trickling in, so for that reason – it’s time to update this post for 2016! For stores I don’t have prices on just yet, I’ve left notes and comments from 2015 sales as guidance (so pay careful attention to dates).
I also addressed the question “what’s a good price for a turkey?” which you might find helpful to read when considering these deals. I made sure to update that post for 2016, to give you the best, current information.
Last updated: Tuesday, November 22nd, 2016 – final update for 2016
Edited to add (12/6/16): If you are finding this post after November 22nd, please note that I am still updating my best ham price round-up through December. Most of the best turkey deals have dropped off until next Thanksgiving season, but I’m finding solid prices on hams for your Christmas/holiday/New Year’s party. Join me there – and then bookmark this post for November 2017, when I’ll update this post again!
Fred Meyer Turkey Price
We now have the 2016 turkey price information for Fred Meyer! This year, they are offering a turkey for $0.49/lb with a $50 grocery purchase (limit 1). This is a change-up from years past when they’ve offered a FREE turkey with $150 grocery purchase. According to my notes, in 2015 you could score a turkey for $0.69/lb with a $50 purchase or more. Going back a year, Fred Meyer also offered a $0.49/lb turkey with a $100+ grocery purchase.
What is my feeling? I like it. This is an incredibly solid deal and should be one to consider.
Also worth noting: I have had readers write and tell me that their Spokane-area stores are offering this same deal, but for $0.29/lb with the $50 purchase. Even better. I’ve not seen a price that low in several years.
In this week’s ad, Fred Meyer has their Express Holiday Turkey Dinner at $49.99. (See the above image for the details.) Even better, there is a $5 off digital coupon (find it under “Deli” category) you can download to your Rewards card, which will drop the price to $44.99. This is not a bad deal for a holiday dinner. However, note it is a bit on the small size, so plan accordingly.
The holiday dinner that was advertised last year is also available for order in 2016:
The difference between the dinners seems to be in relation to the sides – so make sure to take a look at the differences. These offers are unchanged from 2015.

QFC Turkey Price
QFC has just released their 2016 pricing, and as I was expecting – it’s hot! Get a Private Selection frozen turkey for $0.69/lb with a $30 grocery purchase. This is the same deal as 2015. While this purchase does not include the price of the turkey, the $30 threshold is considerably lower than we’re seeing at other stores. (Even better, right now they are offering a VERY HOT Mix & Match sale which would pair up nicely.) They offered this same deal in 2014 and are typically among the best stores to buy your turkey at. As a reminder, my price point for 2016 is $0.79/lb, so QFC’s deal is worth considering.
I anticipate we’ll see some advertised prices soon.
QFC is a Kroger store, just like Fred Meyer. Because of this, you’ll see virtually identical offers at both stores. This makes things convenient for you – just order at the store you shop at, get the same deal! Voila.
This year, QFC is offering the same Express ($49.99) and Deluxe Holiday Dinner $69.99) options as Fred Meyer. There should also be a $5 off ecoupon you can apply. These offers are unchanged from 2015.
