I am very pleased to share that next Tuesday, November 9th, I will be teaching a 2-hour couponing workshop for Washington Women’s Employment & Education (WWEE) in Tacoma, Washington.
This is truly one of my favorite non-profit organizations in Tacoma! Their focus is to empower women with the skills and education they need to make it in today’s marketplace and economy.
Last week I learned that there may be some openings for this class and I asked if I might invite a few readers to fill the space up? I was given a “yes” – but here’s the thing – there are only TEN SPOTS LEFT, which means you MUST RSVP!!
Washington Women’s Employment & Education
South Tacoma Way, Tacoma
Tuesday, November 9th
6:30 – 8:30
This will be an intimate setting, and a chance for you to to ask me your questions in person. I will be covering everything you need to know to get started with couponing and stockpiling!
To RSVP, please contact Caroline at 253.590.0642 or by email at CarolineC at wwee dot org. I’ll update this post when the class has filled.

While at BlogHer in NYC this year, I had the privilege to attend one of the hottest parties – hosted by The Mouthy Housewives. As soon as I entered the party, the hostesses informed me that one of the party’s sponsors, LG, would be giving every attendee this LuV300B model vacuum! I had them repeat the information, because I couldn’t believe it!
Sure enough – a couple days ago, it arrived on our doorstep. My wonderful husband not only opened it for me, he made the inaugural vacuum lines in our family room carpet.
So what did I think about the vacuum?
I LOVE it. Earlier in the day, I had vacuumed my floor with my current vacuum – a brand that claims to never lose suction (*ahem*), but look at what my LG vacuum still found in my carpet?

Eeeewwww….right? I was shocked! The thing that I also noticed – it really “fluffed” up our carpets nicely! We were seriously all on the ground, stroking the carpet (I jest not). It really cleaned it well. There was much rejoicing in our house.

The vacuum also has a wand that removes for easy cleaning of stairs and hard-to-reach places. AND it has a 40-foot cord which means no more annoying having to stop to plug in the cord. It’s also certified asthma and allergy friendly by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. If you are in the market for a new vacuum, you can learn more about the features of this model here.
I truly love my new vacuum and look forward to seeing all the nasty dust and dirt it sucks up!
Disclosure: It’s true. LG really gave me a vacuum valued at $400 for no cost whatsoever to me. They also required nothing of me to accept it and have not compensated me further to share my opinions. Given their amazing generosity and my plain giddiness, I decided to review their product with you today.

There were some pretty big celebrities at BlogHer this year. While I didn’t meet all of them, I did meet a few.

Jenni from Southern Savers

Ronald McDonald from…where else? I rode the elevator with him.

Padma from Top Chef! I’m not afraid to admit it…I was totally star struck. And yes, she is every bit as gorgeous in person!
Late last night (you know, when I should have been going to bed), I uploaded an album with some pics of BlogHer and my new NYC adventures for you on Facebook. Head on over for more of what I did and my impressions of the Big Apple.

A few short hours ago I touched down in beautiful Seattle. New Yorkers, your town is incredible, but Washington? There’s nothing like drinking in that cool, clean Northwest air and knowing you’re home.
And my garden? CRAZY. Just…crazy, folks. Of course as soon as I got home, I went straight for the garden to check on the progress. I can’t wait to do an updated video blog. I swear the corn is at least 8 feet tall now. No joke. It’s more of an edible jungle these days.
I have so many posts running through my head and things I need to get caught up on, so I hope you’ll check back often this week. There may be a giveaway thrown in the mix, too. However, if it takes me a few days to get in the swing of things – know that I’ve not seen my babies in 6 days and they deserve some serious mommy time. (And while I love you all so dearly, you gotta believe my little ones come first!)
I have a couple posts I’ll get up tonight and watch later this week for an NYC/BlogHer recap complete with pictures and stories.
In the meantime I’ll share a fun NYC fact: the store in Times Square below where the ball drops? It’s a WALGREENS, friends! That’s the moment I knew that the Big Apple and I would get along famously. And we did.
