Grocery Outlet

I decided to pop by the South Tacoma Grocery Outlet store to see what I could find on sale today. As usual, I did not leave disappointed! Please note that selection and pricing may vary from store to store.

Limes 10 for $1!

Gluten-free crackers for $1.49! Grocery Outlet recently sent some of these to me to sample and I can tell you – they are VERY good.

4 Pounds of Strawberries for $3.99. This is a GREAT deal and there were not many cartons left!

Fancy skin care products for $6.99 ($29.99 regularly)!

And MORE skin care products for $6.99 – these are anti-aging products and you will save up to $48.01 per item. (This was in this week’s ad.)

Fancy frozen chocolate brownie cakes – these will be marked down TODAY to $2.99. They are regularly almost $19!

These two TGI Friday meal varieties were in the process of being marked down to just $0.99 each!

Store owner Howard shows me that these Jamba Juice smoothies are just 3 for $1!

How about Gluten-Free Bread Mix for just $1.99?! Sounds like a deal to me!

Dried seaweed snacks for just $0.50 each. I’ve seen similar versions at other stores for about twice that.

Individual packs of Twizzlers for $0.25 each. Candy bars are regularly priced at $0.50 each, too.

Small boxes of Moms Best Naturals Oatmeal for $0.50 each!

Thai Kitchen soups for $0.50 each!

Miso soup for $0.50 each!

Turkey pepperoni for just $0.59! I believe the “best by” date was in the next week or two, so you’d either want to: make some pizza tonight or throw it in the freezer! Great price!

Johnsonville chicken sausage for $2.49 – this is cheaper than Albertsons’ price with doublers! Again, the best by date was coming up in the next week or so, so you’d want to either use it up or freeze it. No problem!

Here’s what I ended up with:

Fruit: 4 lbs strawberries, 2 mangoes & 10 limes
Fig Bars: $0.50 each (these are dairy free and they are EXCELLENT)
Mom’s Natural Oatmeal
Fruit Snacks: Fruit by the Foot & a box of snacks for my son’s lunches
A couple individual bags of Ritz crackers also for my son’s lunches
Bottom line: $9.35 for everything!

I saved $16.65 according to the receipt, or 64%!

For more deals, make sure to check out the ad deals I posted this week. You might also want to read my initial review post and also the time I visited corporate in Berkeley. Both of those posts explain more about what to expect if you’ve never shopped at Grocery Outlet, as well as illuminating why they are NOT your average grocery store.

Have you shopped at Grocery Outlet recently? What did you find?

I decided to pop into the South Tacoma Grocery Outlet store this morning to see what I could find to use that great $5/$20 frozen food coupon on I reported a few days ago.

Man those guys are friendly! As soon as I walked in, Christopher, the store manager bellows “Hey everyone! Angela is here!” and then he attempted to convince all the customers in line that I was an Olympic gold medalist gymnast. Nice try, Christopher…but it sure is nice to get a grand entrance!

There were sooo many options for that frozen food coupon folks – I was just giddy! Check it out.

Big bag of potato rounds = $1!

Organic cubed butternut squash = $1.49! I am going to use one of these for a squash lentil soup with ginger recipe I tried last month. Yum! And cheap!

Organic mushroom medley = $1.49!

There were several really good deals in frozen seafood, too.

These Tilapia fillets were just $5.99 a bag! I also found breaded fish fillets (wild caught) for $3.99 a bag!

Chicken nuggets = $3.99 (these are vegetarian fed, free range chicken with whole grain breading too)!

CAKE!!! Check out these beautiful frozen cakes! The one I’m holding is a gourmet pear-filled cake with some fancy embellishments on top. It is just $6.99 – elsewhere you’d pay almost $17! Talk about an awesome find!

Transformer Iron Man face popsicles = $0.08 each! Now I have no clue what exactly these are, but hey, for less than two dimes my kids get a fun little treat, right?

Big bag of frozen blueberries = $4.99!

Frozen medley of mangos, pineapple, and strawberries = $2.99!

Italian Sausages = $2.99!

My Grocery Outlet also had Ethnic Gourmet, Amy’s, Kashi, and several other natural and organic frozen food labels.

So here’s what I ended up doing:

(3) bags of frozen organic mushroom blend
(2) bags of frozen organic butternut squash
(1) big bag chicken nuggets
(1) bag of frozen potato rounds
(2) transformer Iron Man face popsicles
(1) big bag frozen blueberries (for smoothies!)
(1) bag of frozen fruit medley (for smoothies!)

After my $5 off coupon I paid….  $15.59 for everything pictured! I think I did great, what do you think?

It’s not too late to take advantage of this sale. Just head to my Grocery Outlet post from the other day and print off your coupon. It’s good through March 6th.

Oh! And a couple more finds I wanted to share with you…

That’s right – red, green, yellow, and orange peppers are all $0.50 right now! I had to pick some up – this is an extremely fantastic price for the non-green peppers in particular.

These soaps are still available and they smell sooo good! They are just $0.99! And the cute boxed set is $2.99. These would make lovely gifts!

Have you found anything on sale recently at Grocery Outlet? And heads-up, if you love Grocery Outlet, check back here at the blog tomorrow. There *might* be a gift card giveaway coming….

Check it out! You can save $5 on your purchase of $20 frozen food purchase at Grocery Outlet! This is celebration of March, which is National Frozen Food month (more on this on my first-of-the-month post…coming soon.)

You can find it by typing in your zip code and pulling up the ad for your area. Please do note that not all Grocery Outlet stores may run the same ads. (I am showing it for my store in South Tacoma.) This could be a fantastic way to save on items like frozen chicken breast, organic frozen produce, or frozen pizzas!

The ad has some ideas for how you might use that coupon, too. Coupon is good through March 6, 2012.

If you don’t regularly shop at Grocery Outlet, please note that they do not take manufacturer’s coupons. What they do offer is great prices and discounts on food and household items. If you would like some more tips and instruction on shopping Grocery Outlet, make sure to swing by my review post from last summer and also the post where I got to meet with some of the Grocery Outlet corporate team in Berkeley.

Also, if you’ve not done so yet – I highly recommend you sign up for the email newsletter for Grocery Outlet. You’ll get coupons and special notices that are not always available to the general public.
