Kmart

I was going through my coupon binder today and came across this Kmart ad, circa 2009…

Remember this event? Kmart would double up to TWENTY FIVE manufacturer’s coupons up to and including $2 value! You could only purchase 4 of the same item and under this particular sale, you couldn’t use internet coupons….but still. This is much better than the double events they do these days, which I barely even pay attention to because of the restrictions and I think you can now only double coupons up to $0.99 in value or something silly.

All these items I’d been able to get for free at this particular sale.

How I wish they’d do one this good again!

Sigh…..

So I read this post over at Money Saving Mom that Kmart is having a doubling event starting tomorrow (Sunday the 19th) and running through the 25th.

Before you start jumping up and down and losing sleep over excitement, please read the following:

  • Supposedly, this is the list of participating stores. However, I strongly advise you to call first. I’m hearing that some stores may be unaware that this is in fact occurring.
  • You MUST have a free Shop your Way loyalty card in order to get the doubles.
  • While it seems there is unlimited doubling, ONLY coupons $0.99 in value will be doubled. So your $1 and up coupons? It’s a no go.
  • One of Money Saving Mom’s readers got the scoop that there is a limit of 4 like coupons per trip.

In my experience, prices at Kmart are generally higher than other stores. If you plan on going, remember, you can only use coupons $0.99 or less in value. The doubling will occur automatically at checkout, and there is no overage. For some price ideas, you can check the weekly ad. But you may want to plan on bringing your coupons with you to see what you can find.

Will I do this event? Meh – probably not. But since I know so many of you have asked about double events? I’m excited to share it with you tonight.

If you find any great deals with Kmart doubles, tell us about them!

Right now, you can print a $5 off coupon for Shrek Forever After on DVD or Holiday Double DVD Pack!

This coupon is good through December 25, 2010.

Queen Bee Coupons has noted several prices, the strongest being Kmart of $14.99. After the $5/1 printable coupon, you’d pay just $9.99!

Prefer online? Here’s what I found at Amazon last night:

Shrek Forever After (Single-Disc Edition) for $16.99 (would ship free with Amazon Mom)

Shrek: The Whole Story [Blu-ray] for $39.99 and free shipping! (ALL FOUR MOVIES!)

Attention Kmart Shoppers:

Head to your store sometime between now and 10/31/10 with this printable coupon in hand to receive a FREE pedometer! According to the fine print, you do need to have a Shop Your Way Rewards card in order for the coupon to work. The good news is it’s free to get one.

Thanks, For the Mommas!

DevilPrada

If the Kmart in your area is participating in the double coupon event this week, I found a deal that may just be worth doing.

The movie The Devil Wears Prada is priced at $7.50. Here's how to work this deal:

The Devil Wears Prada $7.50
$2/1 printable coupon
Doubled automatically at checkout to $4
Bottom line: $3.50!

I also hear that the DVD Raising Arizona is $5. After this $2/1 printable coupon, it'd work out to just $1!

There are additional DVD printable coupons you might want to have handy just in case. To find them quickly, sort by "Entertainment."

Be sure to read this post on the Kmart double promotion to make sure you're up to speed.

Kmart

As a reminder, tomorrow Kmart kicks off its "Double Coupon Event" in many Kmart stores across the US. This is the first time in more than a year that my stores (in Washington State) will be participating.

Remember these important caveats: you must use your Kmart Rewards Card and there is a limit of 5 coupons per day for this event. Your coupons will double up to $2! This means that if you have a $2 off coupon, $4 will automatically come off at the register. Coupons greater than $2 will only be redeemed at face value. In my experience, if your coupon doubled will end up exceeding the price of the item, the coupon automatically adjusts to match the price of the item (meaning, you get it for free, but no overage).

Here are some of the best ideas for the doubler coupons, thanks to Christian Clippers! Please note that some prices may vary by region.
