This Saturday (September 4th) from 9am – 12pm, Home Depot stores will be offering another FREE workshop for kids!
This month, the project is a football display (pictured above). The event is free – it includes all materials, and your kiddos will additionally receive an orange apron and commemorative pin. Visit Home Depot’s website for additional information about this and other workshops.
You might also want to consider signing up for Home Depot’s free Home Improver Club. You’ll occasionally receive coupons as well as home improvement tips.

Since we’re talking fairs, let me tell you my best Puyallup Fair tip: head there opening day (September 10th) and enter between 10am – 12pm with a suggested non-perishable food item donation for FREE entrance. This is how we’ve been doin’ the Puyallup for years now! (I’ll remind you of this as we get closer.)

I’m so excited the Weekly Cinema offer I posted recently is back! I had just shared this deal and a number of you were interested, and boom, the offer came down. Well…it’s here again!
The way Weekly Cinema works is fairly simple. Each month, you pay $19.99. This will get you four tickets plus a bonus free fifth ticket to use every month. You can then redeem these via Fandango for the movie(s) of your choice. From what I understand, there is NO extra charge when you go to redeem for Fandango tickets. Over 16,000 theaters nationwide currently accept Fandango, which means there’s likely to be one in your neck of the woods.
According to the FAQ, each of the tickets you buy through Weekly Cinema can be redeemed for Fandango tickets valued up to $14 apiece! Five tickets at $14 apiece is $70…so if you normally spend this kind of money at the movie theater, you might want to check out this program.
You can cancel your membership at any time with no cancellation fees, and the contact information to do was readily available on the site.
This is an offer I actually signed up for myself last week. We rarely to never go to the movies in my household, and I’m thinking this might be a good way to enjoy a special night out for cheap. There was a $0.15 fee for the first free ticket, and then a second charge for my first 4 tickets a few days later. I can redeem them whenever I’m ready to use them! This seems to be cheaper than using Costco for their discounted movie tickets, and even cheaper than heading to the matinee!
Are any of you currently using Weekly Cinema? What has your experience been?

NOTE: This offer may be temporarily unavailable. I’ll let you know when/if anything changes!
Do you end up going to the movies once or twice a month as a special treat? Or would you go, if the prices were more affordable?
If so…I’ve been hearing about a program lately that I thought I’d share with you. It’s called Weekly Cinema and the way it works is fairly simple. Each month, you pay $19.99. I actually just signed up myself this morning. We rarely to never go to the movies in my household, and I’m thinking this might be a good way to enjoy a special night out for cheap. There was a $0.15 fee for the first free ticket, and it looks like I’ll see the $19.99 charge for the first set of four tickets on Monday. Then they’ll be available in my account to redeem through Fandango. Seemed pretty straightforward to me.

Did you know August 7th (Saturday) and 8th (Sunday) are National Twins Days? I love how they have not one, but two days!
Well the Seattle Children’s Museum is going to celebrate by offering free admission for all “twins!” Not a twin? You may be in luck. Here’s how they will be defining twins: “anyone dressed alike will be admitted to the Museum free of charge!”
A little fine print, now: Children must be accompanied by an adult, and an adult must be accompanied by a child aged 10 or under. Two free admissions per group. In order to be considered twins, two individuals need to make a good effort to dress alike. (So, I’m guessing you can’t say: “hey look, we both wore flip flops!”)
If you’ve never taken your child, the Seattle Children’s Museum is really quite amazing! And this is really quite an amazing deal, too. Normal admission for adults and children is $7.50. If you have any questions about this promotion, feel free to contact them.
Thanks, Stephanie!
