This has got to be one of the more interesting freebies I’ve shared in awhile. Doctor on Demand is an online service where you have a video visit with a board-certified physician, psychologist or lactation consultant. (This kind of reminds me of Web Therapy, with Lisa Kudrow!)
Once you have created an account (it’s free and easy), you can opt to see an MD now or schedule an appointment. You can do this for nearly any non-emergency medical condition and the doctors can diagnose, treat, and write prescriptions (if appropriate).
Right now, you can use coupon code HOME for a free first visit – a value of $40!
I was able to add the code easily enough once I chose the “schedule an appointment” screen. It says that I have a $50 credit, but the doctor visits are $40. So, not entirely sure how that works but I expect the first visit should be free.
I’m really intrigued by this whole thing. There are times when my kids or I deal with non-emergency issues that it would be nice to not have to take time off of school to drive across town for. However, I’m not entirely sure how an online doctor would say, diagnose strep throat without you being there in person. I suppose for the low price of free, it could be interesting to figure out how it works and if it would be beneficial for the future.
To get started or to learn more, visit Doctor on Demand. I’d love to know your thoughts on this one, friends.
