I know that many of you are moved to do something in light of the tragedy in Connecticut last week. Hip2Save has found the address you can send letters of condolence to, and I wanted to pass it along:
Messages of Condolence for Newtown
PO Box 3700
Newtown CT 06470
As I mentioned in my message on Friday, I also encourage you to find some way to give to someone else, in honor of those who lost their lives. My daughter and I spent most of the day at our church wrapping gifts for kids in our community and are headed back in a few minutes. It’s not too late to give to a toy drive, reach out to a struggling family this Christmas season, or sponsor a child that’s been waiting a LONG time. The world needs people like you – people who refuse to harden their hearts; people who still have the capacity to care, roll up their sleeves, and help.
I know it may be difficult to look at the names and faces of those that passed last week – I get that – but I had an idea today to write out all their names on an index card and tape it to my bathroom mirror. As I’m getting ready in the mornings to come, I’ll have their names in front of me, reminding me to pray for comfort and healing for their families.
I would love to know any additional ideas you have for reaching out to the community of Newtown or making a difference in your own?
