When my kids think pizza, they tend to think PARTY. Usually pizza is associated with weekends or special events, such as birthday parties. Recently I thought – why not celebrate something different? Like making it through Monday, or the start of track season? (Or hey, celebrate Mom giving herself a night off of cooking?)
Last night, I decided to make it a surprise party night! I stopped by Papa Murphy’s since I knew they offered the best take ‘n’ bake pizza and at great prices. This means it’s made fresh to my specifications. A couple years ago, my son went through a phase where he didn’t like sauce and the employees there were accommodating without so much as a sideways glance!
We love doing half and half pizzas so everyone can get what they want. This is usually cheese for my daughter, pepperoni for my son, and lots of toppings for my husband and I. (For the record, I’m a believer that pineapple absolutely does belong on pizza!)
No matter what your taste, Papa Murphy’s has a huge selection of toppings to choose from such as spicy fennel sausage, artichoke hearts and sun-dried tomatoes. You can even customize the sauce and crust! Even better, you can feel good about the quality of ingredients. I recently learned that Papa Murphy’s prepares their dough fresh every day (and in an actual stand mixer!). Their vegetables are fresh – never frozen – and hand-chopped. The cheese is 100% whole-milk mozzarella.
It’s also worth mentioning that Papa Murphy’s carries more than just pizza. I found all the salads in the store were really fresh looking and were full of toppings. Have you tried these before? The one pictured above is the Club Salad. Recommend!
Because you cook the pizza when you’re ready, it’s always hot from the oven – not cold or soggy as you sometimes get with delivery options.
My kids were super excited to find Papa Murphy’s pizza for dinner!
Since this is a blog focused on saving money, of course I have to talk a moment about why I think Papa Murphy’s is a frugal choice. First, I find the prices to be completely reasonable, plus you never need to worry about delivery fees since it’s all carryout. Here’s another tip: sign up for the Dinner Circle (it’s free and easy) to receive offers by text and email! The day I signed up, I immediately received two very solid offers, one by text the other by email. In fact, I redeemed the email offer for our pizza celebration! Make sure to sign up over at Papa Murphy’s.
Finally, here’s the best part about our pizza party: leftovers! I know what I’ll be having for lunch the next day!
