I was browsing the health section of Fred Meyer yesterday when I happened on a pretty good deal!
The half gallons of So Delicious Coconut Milk were $4.49, but currently on sale at $2.99. Even better, some of them had peelie coupons for $1/1 – making them $1.99 each! I also found that there’s a $1/1 printable coupon available (with registration) on their website.
I LOVE cereal and know that milk has high sugar content, so I decided to give this a whirl. I picked up the unsweetened variety – 50 calories a serving and NO sugar! It has a nice, delicate coconut taste and worked beautifully on my oatmeal and in my coffee this AM! If you are vegan or lactose intolerant, this might be a great alternative to cow’s milk!
If you regularly buy this product, how else do you use it? I was wondering if you could use it to cook up some jasmine rice.

Right now, you can print a coupon good for $20 off your purchase of $50 or more at Vitamin World. According to the fine print, you can use this coupon on top of buy one get one free and buy one get one 50% off sales!
Only one coupon may be used per customer and it expires July 13, 2010.
Prefer to shop online? Use coupon code VE6QC5F at checkout. Shipping is a flat $1.95 or free if you spend $75 or more.
If you do choose to shop online, initiate your purchase at Shop at Home or Ebates to earn 6% cash back! (How do Shop at Home and Ebates Work?)
Thank you, The Thrifty Mama!

Thrifty Northwest Mom recently tipped me off to a site I hadn’t heard of before: Zulily. This site usually features one-day-only sales for maternity, baby, and children’s items.
Apparently they are also starting to offer local deals as well! Right now, they have an awesome deal for select neighborhoods in and around Seattle: spend $35 and get $80 worth of organic produce from Full Circle Farm delivered right to your door! Choose from among their 200 varieties of fruits, vegetables, and herbs. While they do offer a subscription service, you can simply redeem your $80 gift certificate to try them out without any further obligation.
You can read more about the Full Circle organic produce offer, but note you will need to create a Zulily account FIRST. (So set up your account and then come back and the link should work for you!) Delivery is for select neighborhoods in King, Pierce, Snohomish, and Kitsap Counties, so make sure to check out their zip code finder before placing your order. If you don’t mind driving, they do have a number of community pick-up sites available too.
This sale ends at June 29th or until supplies last, so hurry if you want to take advantage!
Thanks, Thrifty Northwest Mom!

Interested in buying grass-fed beef?
La Cense’s beef comes from 100% grass-fed cattle that freely range a ranch in Montana. And, select items are on sale right now for 20% off AND free shipping! While the total price still is what I’d consider a splurge, if you are looking on cutting food costs in other areas so you can afford healthful, quality beef – this might be a company you want to keep on your radar!
Shop at Home is currently offering a whopping 13% cash back for La Cense Beef. Stack that with their “great grilling sale” items and the free shipping – and you might just have a pretty sweet Father’s Day gift in the works! For more on how Shop at Home works, read this recent post.

Sometimes if I have the chance to duck into a store like Fred Meyer by myself at night (which is rare), I’ll take some extra time to see what I can find that might not be advertised. Field work, you know?
Tonight I stumbled upon a great deal on organic soup I just had to share with you! On the shelf in the Nutrition Center, I found a Fred Meyer 10 for $10 Organic Soup coupon. It was good for Imagine, Health Valley, and Sesame Street. Note: you do not have to buy 10 to get the price. They work out to $1 each with the coupon. Since the regular price of these soups are nearly $3 a can, I decided to take advantage! I figure they’ll make some great healthy lunches for our family! They had chilis, cream soups, kid-friendly veggie and tomato soups, and more.
Incidentally, I loved reading the label on the Sesame Street can…apparently it’s made with “Organic Elmo Pasta.” Phew – I can sleep well tonight knowing my kids are eating quality ingredients such as that!
I couldn’t locate any current manufacturers’ coupons for these brands. But if you had ‘em, you should be able to stack ‘em. (And do let us know where you found them if so!)
The coupon states it’s good through May 8th.
