QFC

Earlier this week I reported the Kraft Catalina was working at both Fred Meyer and QFC, and that I’d opt to do it at Fred Meyer, even though I thought the QFC deal was only slightly better.

Well, I read this post over at Queen Bee Coupons and decided to head back to QFC. Good thing I did – it turned into a money-maker deal for me since my store had the $1/2 Kraft Cheese Blinkies!

Here’s how I worked this deal:

Buy 10 Kraft Shreds for $1.89 each = $18.90
Save $5 instantly (participating product) = $13.90
Use (5) $1/2 Blinkie coupons = $8.90
Receive (2) $5 off-your-next-order coupons
Bottom line: $1.10 money-maker!

What I didn’t know about this deal when I reported it previously is that not one, but TWO $5 OYNO coupons would be generated!

WARNING: Make sure you pay attention to the varieties you select! You are looking for the 8 oz. kinds that are clearly labeled with the promotional tags. I messed this up and selected a 12 oz kind my first go at this. Would you believe the 8 oz bags are $8.59! Holy cow. Fortunately, the store was able to fix it for me, but this could’ve easily been prevented if I’d paid more attention!

Even if you don’t have the blinkies, you’d end up paying $13.90, and getting $10, which would mean a bottom line of $0.39 a bag.

According to Queen Bee Coupons, the price of this cheese AND the Catalina are supposedly good through 8.20, which gives you some time.

As for me, I’m likely to use my $10 OYNO coupons on a QFC sale or loss leader to maximize my savings.

Thanks, Queen Bee Coupons and Coupon Connections NW!

Remember that awesome Kraft Cheese Catalina I shared with you a couple days ago?

It pairs wonderfully with the sale happening at Fred Meyer this week. Check it out:

Buy Kraft Shredded Cheese @ $1.50 each
Use (2) $1/2 Blinkie Coupons (look for these at the store – in the “blinkie” machine in front of the product!)
Pay $5.50 at the register

Receive a $5 off-your-next-order Catalina coupon!

You could then take the $5 Catalina coupon and do a second transaction, like this:

Buy 5 Kraft Shredded Cheese @ $1.50 each
Use (2) $1/2 Blinkie Coupons
Use $5 Catalina coupon
Pay $0.50 at register

Receive a $5 off-your-next-order Catalina coupon!

Thanks, Fistful of Coupons!

Incidentally, when I was at QFC a couple days ago, it appears their promotion is still running through the 27th…buy 10 Kraft Cheese, save $5 instantly. They also had the blinkie machine in the store. This would work out to $1.38 per bag of cheese after the promo. And after the $5 Catalina, you’d end up paying slightly less than Fred Meyer. However, given Fred Meyer’s overall lower prices, I’d personally opt to do the deal there so I could really stretch that final $5 Catalina!

It was about this time last year that Kraft was heavily promoted at the stores, and then it died down as summer waned. My advice? If you like Kraft cheese, stock up and freeze it! I found the shreds froze well and I used them for my holiday fondues and freezer recipes throughout the fall months.

Amber over at Coupon Connections NW gave me a heads-up about a current Catalina promotion running on Kraft cheese. Here’s the scoop:

Buy 5 of the following products, receive a $5 off-your-next-order coupon
Purchase between 7/19-8/15
Kraft Singles
Kraft Parmesan Cheese
Kraft Natural Cheese- Chunks, Shredded, Crumbles, stick and cubes
Kraft String-ums Cheese
Krat Deli Deluxe Cheese Slices
Philadelphia Cream Cheese
Velveeta Cheese Product
Cracker Barrel Cheese
Cheez Whiz
Breakstone’s Sour Cream 16oz
Breakstone’s Cottage Cheese 16oz
Knudsen Sour Cream 16oz
Knudsen Cottage Cheese 16oz

This Catalina appears to be working at QFC, Fred Meyer, Albertsons, and Safeway….so I’m guessing it’s a national promotion. Please let me know if it’s working at other stores, too. A quick note about “rolling” this Catalina…many Catalinas state they are not to be used on dairy products. I’ve not personally done this deal to confirm the fine print wording, but if the Catalina reads that, don’t roll it.

Some scenario ideas:

QFC (through today only, from Coupon Connections NW)
Fred Meyer (through Saturday, from Maybe Frugal)

It was about this time last year we saw Kraft heavily promoted. I wouldn’t be surprised if we find a few more good matches for this Catalina promotion!

I wanted to share with you two deals that are ONLY good through tomorrow.

Up first: Post Cereal at QFC

At QFC, select varieties of Post Cereal are just $1 each with your QFC card!

Post Cereal $1 (limit 10)
$1/2 ANY Post cereal from 5/16 SmartSource (expires 6/27 – that’s Sunday!)
$1/2 KIDS Post cereal from 5/16 SmartSource (expires 6/27 – that’s Sunday!)
Bottom line: $0.50 each!

Obviously, rainchecks aren’t going to do you any good here as the coupons are only good through Sunday. I do consider $0.50 a box stock-up worthy, so if you have any of these coupons laying around…use ‘em or lose ‘em!

Up second: cheap Goldfish at Safeway

The deal on Goldfish is ONLY good today (Saturday) and Sunday. Even without the $0.50/1 coupon, I think $0.88 is a stellar stock-up price on this item!

Goldfish $0.88 (limit 10)
$0.50/1 printable coupon
Bottom line: $0.38 each!

My friend Kellie recently took advantage of that movie ticket promotion sale that's going on at QFC and Fred Meyer right now. As a reminder, when you buy 10 participating items, you get a coupon for 15 free music or ringtone downloads, or a movie ticket! Here's how she did:

KellieTrip2

She bought: 4 Snuggle, 6 Uncle Ben's Rice and 2 S&W Beans (the Snuggle & Uncle Ben's were the promotional items).

She then used: (4) $3/1 Snuggle coupons, (3) $1/2 Uncle Ben coupons, and a $0.50/2 Beans coupon. Plus she had a $1 Snuggle ecoupon loaded she'd forgotten about and automatically came off at checkout.

All told? She spent $7.22 for everything, plus the free movie ticket! Considering that an average ticket costs about $8-10, I  think she did a pretty awesome job!

Want to learn more about this promotion so you can take advantage too?

MovieTic

A few days ago I mentioned both Fred Meyer and QFC are offering a free movie ticket promotion when you bought 10 participating items.

Amber over at Coupon Connections NW has done an awesome job of putting together a complete list of items & corresponding coupons! Check it out HERE.

Thanks, Amber!

QFC

Amber from Coupon Connections NW notified me that QFC is also participating in the hot free movie ticket promotion this week! As a reminder, when you purchase 10 participating items, you'll receive a coupon at checkout good for 15 free music or ringtone downloads, or a free movie ticket!

Included at QFC's sales are bottles of Snuggle, which are "buy one, get one free" – and don't forget those $3/1 coupons from the 3/28 Red Plum!

Because Fred Meyer prices tend to be lower than QFC, and because QFC has other similar products on sale, I'd be curious to know if Snuggle is a participating item at Fred Meyer too. Anyone know?

Be sure to see Amber's QFC post for details.

Thanks, Coupon Connections NW!

Ritz

You might well have already taken advantage of this rebate during the holiday, but if not, you still have until tomorrow to get $10 back on your purchase of 10 select Nabisco products or more! (And either way, make sure to mail in those receipts!)

Need a quick deal to make this worth your while?

According to Maybe Frugal, the Ritz crackers are $1.99 when you buy in multiples of 10 at QFC. Use the $1/1 coupon from 1/24 SmartSource. If you have 10 of them, you'd get all 10 boxes free after coupons and rebate!

A note here: I understand that not everyone has multiple coupons like this available to them. These are only suggested "best deal" ideas. Use a little common sense. Even if you had NO coupons, don't you think $1 a box for Ritz after rebates is still a good deal? I do! Do your best with what you have! I certainly don't have 10 coupons, but I might have 3 or 4. This would mean I'd pay $0.60 – $0.70 a box. Make sense?

Thanks for the rebate reminder, Freebies4Mom!
