Seattle Tilth: HUGE Edible Plant Sale May 3 + 4 (Wallingford)

tilthI realized tonight that the Seattle Tilth Edible Plant Sale is tomorrow and Sunday from 9am – 3pm in Wallingford! Even though it’s a bit of a late notice, I wanted to get a post out and spread the word as this is an amazing sale that will include many edible plants including garden veggies, herbs, flowers and more! What I love about this sale is that all the plants have been locally grown using sustainable and organic practices. Most veggies are $3, while herbs & flowers are $4.

Plan ahead by viewing the list of available plants at SeattleTilth.org.

I’m personally going to be packing up the kids and heading up early in the morning. I do recommend you get there sooner than later if you have particular plants you’re hoping to buy – I found that the Romas were sold out by the time I got up in the early afternoon last year!

If you’ve never been, it’s a fun place to just explore (the photo was taken at Seattle Tilth, at last year’s sale). Wander around the community and children’s garden and enjoy some of the vendors that will be out for the event, too. This is a popular event, so allow yourself some time to find a place to park or ride the bus.

There are a couple other noteworthy plant sales happening in the area this weekend if you’ve got gardening on the brain:

Will you be headed up to this sale over the weekend? I’d also love to hear from anyone that’s been to the Master Gardener sale – thoughts?

Every year I say I’m going to go but I never do!! I think this might be the year I actually go, but I think I’ll only bring a set amount of money so I don’t go too crazy with the plants.

That is a very, very smart idea. Otherwise, you’ll say, “I’m just buying 4 tomato plants” and get distracted and buy a ton of other stuff you don’t have money or space for.

Yeah… I’m speaking about my experience last year… ;) DOH.
