It’s time for another installment of my popular series, “Stuff I didn’t know I needed…until I went to Costco.” This blog series gives equal attention to deals and random miscellany I find while wandering around Costco.
Here are some of the things I found during my trip yesterday:
We purchased one of these foldable wagons a couple years ago at Costco and find it’s particularly excellent for hauling our gear out to soccer games and tournaments.
Adidas boys’ shorts just $9.99 – another good thing to stock up on for soccer!
Here’s an easy way to save on your date night dinner: pay $74.99 for $100 of gift cards.
This Waterpik shower head is on sale for just $19.99 right now!
Turbo Extreme Steam Handheld Steamer for just $39.99.
If you’ve got book club or a dinner party and are short on time, you can pick up this tray of cracker cut cheese (2 lbs) for $10.79.
Really huge, healthy-looking blueberry bushes for just $19.99.
Three tomato plants for $9.79. Given the size of them, I’d say this is a good deal.
Kids’ folding table for $19.99. Great for craft, outdoor activities, friends’ picnics/playdates.
Of course, there are cute lil’ chairs to go with those cute lil’ tables $13.89 each.
Nautica laundry hampers just $14.99. I’ve become a huge fan of these “pop-up” style hampers as of late.
Beef Short Ribs in BBQ Sauce, $5.39/lb. Have you tried these?
I bought this 2-pack of toilet brushes and storage containers last year (also at $19.99). I think it’s actually a pretty good deal, plus you get 2 replacement heads!
Lemoncello almonds for $8.99. These sound great!
Here’s another yummy looking treat: Brownie Brittle, for $6.99
Silk’n BellaGlide Hair Removal Device for $149.97. I’m intrigued by this and if it works well. It reads “permanent results with repeated use over time.” That sounds both promising and contradictory.
Need some garden décor? Costco was selling this set of 2 cranes for about $57.
Bucket playset for $9.99. This might make a great birthday gift for a child!
This seemed like a pretty good deal on Sharpies to me. Pay $10.49 for 25. That works out to $0.42 per marker, which is lower than my stock-up price during back-to-school season!
Ultrasonic diffuser + 2 oils (lavender and I think rosemary mint?) for $29.99. This might make a neat Mother’s Day gift!
Tequila in a boot + 2 shot glasses for $44.99 including all the taxes and fees.
Two $25 gift cards to Legendary Doughnuts for $39.99. That’s a 20% savings, right off the bat. We love this place!
This also struck me as a really great deal: 50 piece colored pencils for $8.79. That works out to $0.17 per pencil. Plus, it includes a canvas storage bag and sharpener.
I’m thinking these salami + provolone packs would be good for school lunches!
I was so tempted by these pretty hand soaps, I bought them. They are just $9.99! In case you’re wondering, no, they aren’t glass. But the scents are so nice and I love the designs. I found them over near the health and beauty section.
Folding bench for $24.99. Good for parties.
Beecher’s Mac & Cheese for $12.99. If you’ve never had this stuff, it’s worth trying. It’s absolutely delicious! This is about the best price I’ve seen for the size you’re getting. It would be excellent with a $4.99 Costco roast chicken.
I ended up picking up this 2-pack of pillows, too. Ours are all flat and I have been craving something fluffier!
I found this pack of 36 microfiber towels for $14.99. That works out to $0.42 per towel and would be awesome for cleaning your car.
Here is the thing I was most tempted to buy yesterday, but was also the most out of my price range. Yamaha was having a piano event at my store. I would love, love, love a beautiful piano like this. I have an older upright I paid $500 for years ago. Sigh.
As always, Costco has super soft blankets. These were $9.99.
Caramel Tres Leches cake for $10.99 right now. My husband has said this is one of the best cakes he’s ever had. It is quite good and I think this is an excellent price!
Here’s a final tip that was new to me: did you know you can bring empty ink cartridges to Costco’s Photo Center for a $7.49 refill? I’ll definitely be checking to see if mine are accepted next time!
All told, I spent about $30 on the hand soap and pillows. I also shopped early, before the sample stations were up and running and I think that helped me avoid temptation!
