My husband and I have lately been feeling like it’s time to get our act together and eat healthier again. As anyone who likes to eat healthy knows, it’s all about the planning. So last Friday night, we decided to hit up Costco to stock up on healthy stuff.
In hindsight, we had two things going against us. First, we had no list or even a general idea of what we wanted to get. I know, I know – this is very bad. Second, my husband was pretty hungry.
Of course, we found lots of other stuff during our trip so I thought I’d highlight those items today as well as show you what happens when you head to Costco with a lack of a plan and a lack of food in your stomach.
I will say the samples on Friday night were awesome! My husband pointed out that there was a “trifecta” of chocolate samples happening down the snack aisle.
This deal was just for the weekend (I did share it on my Facebook page), but check it out: $24.99 for $50 of Legendary Doughnuts! I couldn’t resist. Not a great start to stocking up on healthy items…
Big furry pillow for $24.99. I bet my dog would love this thing.
We totally ended up with this steamer. We both HATE ironing and my husband has had his eye on something like this for awhile. For the record, he used it yesterday on some jeans and it worked great. $39.99!
Two laminated maps (world & United States) for $14.99. Might be good for teachers or a homeschooling family?
The name of these ice cream sandwiches cracked me up so much!
This 6-pack of tiramisu cups ($9.99) very nearly made its way into our cart.
Really pretty 6-piece stainless steel knife set for $29.99!
Oh hey! It’s a 2-pack Squatty Potty. I guess these things are to help keep things moving… so to speak. These were $29.99, so that’s $14.99 per Squatty Potty. I think that’s a good deal, but I’ve never priced them out.
I think this 3-pack of Contigo water bottles for kids was around $11.
Perfect foot file (wet & dry) for $39.99 with instant manufacturer’s rebate. I think this price is good considering it comes with the carrying case and replacement roller heads.
Not sure what’s exactly going on with this snack… it’s called Figgy Pops Mangoberry Super Snacks. Is it a pop? Is it a mango, or a berry, or a mangoberry?
Ultra modern chandelier for $189.99.
This game is $49.99 and looks like a giant version of Jenga.
Serve up a party with the Rubbermaid Serve & Store Party Set! Just $19.99.
I really dig these silicone tools. You get a set of 10 pieces for $15.99 after the instant manufacturer’s rebate. I think that’s a great price!
YES! Look at what I found on sale! My favorite caramel corn for $3.99 after instant rebate! Of course that had to end up in the cart, too.
Fujifilm Instant Camera for $99.99.
Set of 6 cute bowls with lids for $19.99.
Lunch kit for $13.99. It has containers and ice packs.
Cuisinart food spiralizer for $19.99.
GIANT fan. I mean GIANT for $299.99. This would be great to cool down perhaps a barn or a circus tent. What else would you use it for?
A 2 pack of cold brew coffee makers for $19.99! This is a great price – just $9.99 only!
Oh cute! Dried baby bananas!
This seems like a good deal to me too. The Canon Rebel T6 2 lens kit bundle for $449.99!
After about an hour of shopping, it was time to check out. But that’s when we realized… we totally failed on our mission.
We ended up with Legendary Doughnuts, found a GREAT deal on Drumsticks, the ribs and shrimp were calling to my husband, and I couldn’t resist the huge bag of caramel corn for $3.99. We did get some coconut water, so there’s that. We agreed we’d have to make another trip to Costco to get the healthy items!
