It’s time again for another installment of my popular blog series “Stuff I didn’t know I needed… until I went to Costco.” In this series, I simply highlight what stands out to me during a shopping trip at Costco. Are some of these items deals? Sure. But many are items that are definitely not on my shopping list (or yours for that matter). They are items that catch my eye while wandering the aisles. Items that I suddenly can’t live with out.
I actually visited the store a couple days ago (I know, I know… I procrastinated a bit on this post). I returned to this store to go back and buy a couple of these items and can assure you, may of them are still there, in stock.
With that, here’s what I found.
Boot dryer for $59.99. Now I don’t own many boots, but if I did, I’d be all over this. I hate having wet and/or cold feet. Perhaps one could use it for shoes, too? I didn’t get a close enough look.
These Sunbeam Heated Throws are currently $23.99 right now with instant manufacturer’s discount (through November 22nd). This was one of those items I saw, thought about, but ultimately didn’t buy. However, I kept thinking about it, even through the next day so today I totally went back and bought a couple. While my kids love them, my dog really really loves them! He was rolling all over it and giving me lots of kisses as if to say “thank you!”. The only thing I’d say: it’s definitely a throw, NOT a blanket. Costco was selling a couple bed-sized heated blankets too.
This seems like a good deal! It’s a 4-pack of Starbucks mugs and drinks for $15.99. Maybe divvy them up and gift them?
Buying gift cards is always smart at Costco because you save money there too! This is the first time I recall seeing Taco Time gift cards. Yum!
Kidkraft Grand Estate Dollhouse for $149.99. This is one of those gifts I always wanted to get as a kid!
This is a cake carrier for $14.99. It was fairly tall, so would be good to transport a larger cake (such as a bundt cake). It also contained a pie carrier. Basically, it’s great for all the holiday baking I’m sure you’ll be doing.
This pop-up insulated organizer is $9.99. Great for transporting groceries home.
I found this Smithsonian Interactive Library in the toy section. It includes 6 books and an interactive “pen” for audio touchpoints in the books.
I was excited to find these pumpkin scones ($7.99) because it’s one of my daughter’s favorite treats! I did buy them and I can say two days later, there are none left! Of course, you could always make my pumpkin scone recipe to save a few bucks.
I see these 5-pack craft organizers pop up at Costco every now and then. They sell for $19.99. I think they’re worth mentioning since many of you may be wanting to work on holiday crafts or cards and need some way to organize and store everything.
Last month, I shared that I found these packable down throws at Costco and wondered if they’d be any good. A few of you did vouch for them and it didn’t hurt that I noticed a few parents at last weekend’s soccer game huddled in them too. I went back and bought a couple ($19.99 each). When I came home with them, my husband mentioned I should have bought 4 – one for each of us. Unfortunately, I could NOT find them at my store today – only two days later! If you happen to have these at your store, I’d love to know.
Dinner plate party pack for $13.99. Enough to serve 50 people!
Costco is selling this Holiday Art Jar for $19.99. We have purchased the regular Art Jar they sometimes sell and it’s packed with odds and ends along with a project idea book. This would be a lot of fun for the avid young crafter!
I also bought this. (I know, I succumbed to quite a bit of temptation during this visit!) These huge jar candles were SO beautiful and only $11 after instant manufacturer’s rebate. I currently have the cream one burning and it’s got such a lovely Harvest Spice scent. They also had a Frosted Berry and Cranberry version. I think these would make really nice gifts! (Although I’m tempted to snag a few more to stock up my home!)
Can someone tell me what’s the deal with this honey? I seem to have noticed it everywhere now – and it’s really, really expensive. It was selling in this larger jar for $39.99 at Costco, which is probably a good deal for this fancy honey.
Large rain and sun umbrella for $9.99 on instant manufacturer’s rebate through November 22nd and NO limit. I bought one because my smaller umbrella just was not cutting it on the sidelines of my son’s soccer game last weekend!
Costco seems to be ramping up the book section with a number of giftable books and sets.
Speaking of gifts, check out these beautiful Harry & David gift baskets! They were selling for $39.99, which seems like a really good deal to me for how large and pretty these are.
These lanterns have built-in USB ports. HUH! That would be super handy for camping or power outages. I believe these were $19.99.
3-pack Pumpkin Rolls for just $12.99! This seems like a really good deal.
Pre-Built Gingerbread House Kit for about $9.99.
I am tempted to buy this for my daughter. It’s a memory foam lap desk with a built-in light, for $29.99. I found it in the electronics department, if you’re looking for it!
My store had the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Getaway in stock!
In case you missed my post from Wednesday, I want to point out that I also happened upon several American Girl toys during my trip, including a full-size doll! Make sure to see my post from Wednesday with the full list of items and prices.
I’d love to know what you’re finding at your Costco this time of year. I’d also love to know if you’ve purchased or seen any of the items featured in my post today at your store! For more posts in this series, please see my Costco page.
