My friend Susan is just awesome and I asked (OK, more like begged) if I could share with you what she’s been up to! Not only is Susan a friend, she’s also a neighbor, AND she’s also an amazingly frugal lady! So you could say I’m totally blessed to have her around! Susan started her garden project about the same time I did. However, unlike the mess I still have going, Susan’s garden is ready to go. AND she did this all by herself (well…as you’ll see she did have a little help…and I do mean a little one!)
Finally, she put it into place and added landscaping paper at the bottom. The PVC pipes were added so she could easily cover her garden once planted. We do have some hungry rabbits that live in our neighborhood!
Pretty amazing stuff, Susan! I’m impressed! I asked her what she learned from this process and if she had any advice to pass on. She mentioned that planning was essential. Her drill battery kept dying and she realized it would’ve been helpful if she had both batteries fully charged. Her drill bit wasn’t long enough either – another set back. Finally, she recommends you build your structure on a level surface.
I’ll keep you posted on how Susan’s garden is coming along! If you’re just starting out, you might be interested in the FREE vegetable gardening workshop happening tomorrow at Home Depot.
