Vlogs/Webcasts

Are we really approaching the end of July? Seems hard to believe if you live in Western Washington! I feel like we’re just gearing up for summer.

Here’s a look at how my garden is shaping up for July!

Incidentally, I’ve discovered a benefit to having a garden. You eat more vegetables! And you think about eating more vegetables, too. Now this might sound rather obvious, but to me it’s an exciting discovery. So the other day I’m making pizza and I start chopping a tomato to add to it – like it was second nature or something!

And last night I whipped up some Orange Chicken (OK…it’s Trader Joe’s!) and instead of serving it on rice, I served it on fresh organic lettuce from our garden! Then I added fresh chopped green onions on top. Viola!

To learn more, be sure to check out posts in my Gardening Category.

And to see what others are growing in their gardens, do stop by The Garden Party!

“I wish you could just come over and show me how to coupon in person!”

Say this no more, my friend! Several weeks ago I kicked off live webcasting from my site as a way to show you how to make sense of this couponing thing!

Past webcasts have included:

Common Sense Stockpiling
Where to Find Coupons
Organizing Coupons

Live webcasts are held the first and third Mondays of every month at 8 PM PST. You will be able to watch me HERE and interact with me via a live chat stream (this is optional). The August schedule is as follows:

::Monday, August 2nd, 8 PM: Drugstore Shopping 101
::Monday, August 16th, 8 PM: Grocery Shopping Strategies

Each webcast is recorded so you can go back and watch it again and again.

Incidentally, next week I’m headed off to BlogHer 2010 in NYC! Would there be any interest in having me do a quick “live from New York! It’s Saturday Night!” edition webcast? Let me know – I think it would be relatively easy to set up from my laptop and let you know my initial thoughts of the Big Apple and BlogHer.

Live in or around the Edmonds, WA area?

If so, you might want to know fellow blogger Amber of Coupon Connections NW is holding a coupon class – and it’s free! It will be held on September 21st at 7pm.

While there is no cost or obligation, you do need to RSVP as space is limited. For more information, please see her post.

Some of you have asked when I will be having another coupon class. I *might* have another class or two in the works, though I can’t confirm anything at this point. I know many of you like to learn by having someone teach which is exactly why I’ve been doing live webcasts the first and third Mondays of every month. You can view the past webcasts by going HERE. I will be announcing the August topics shortly – so stay tuned!

In last night’s LIVE webcast I mentioned I’d create a post today for bloggers to link any posts they have related to the topic of coupon organization! I think it would be great to swap ideas. In honor of the occasion, I set up a Mr. Linky!

The other point I mentioned during the webcast was that you can donate your expired coupons to overseas military. They are allowed to use the coupons for 6 months past the expiration date. In order to maximize the effectiveness of this program, do send the coupons over as quickly as possible. To learn more or sign up for the program, visit Overseas Coupon Program. Remember, ONLY overseas military can use the coupons past expiration! Do not try this at home!

And in case you missed it, you can view my 30-minute recorded webcast on Organizing your Coupons! Bloggers…link away! And if you don’t have a blog, feel free to share in the comment section what you’re doing that’s working for you.

Mister Linky’s Magical Widgets — Auto-Linky widget will appear right here!
This preview will disappear when the widget is displayed on your site.

In fact, you can watch my previous live webcasts right now:

For those just joining me, I recently launched LIVE videostreaming on my blog!

Why have I taken this step? Because I saw an opportunity, and I jumped on it. I get regularly asked to teach at classes and I myself learned how to coupon by personal explanation and not a blog I read. These live videos enable me to teach you as I would a friend and allow you to interact with me – live. They give you more FREE content and enable me to stay at home. Win-win, right?

Tonight’s webcast starts at 8pm PST and will be how to find coupons and understand what they mean. Tonight’s webcast should last approximately half an hour, give or take. You can also check out the July webcast line-up.

Want to join me?

1. First, if you have questions related to the topic of how to find coupons, please feel free to leave me a comment. This will give me a little bit of time to read your answer and make sure I plan to address it tonight.

2. At 8pm PST, head HERE. When I’m live, you’ll see me pop up.

3. If you want to participate in the chat (entirely optional), you’ll have the ability to create an account. I will watch the chat stream and do my best to address any questions as they arise.

4. The show will be recorded and up on my blog later in the evening. So if the time isn’t convenient for you, you’ll still have the option to watch the show.

If you want to get a feel for the show, you can watch my first webcast from a couple weeks ago.

See you tonight!

Did you have the chance to watch me LIVE a week and a half ago now? (If not, you can still watch the recorded version.)

After doing the show and seeing what’s involved I’ve decided to do two live webcasts per month: on the first and third Mondays at 8pm PST. 7pm was too complicated in my household…if you watch the show, you’ll notice a few minutes in my 2-year old daughter wanders into the room holding some lemonade. Cute…but not what I was entirely going for. So, I’ve decided to shoot for 8pm – when everyone’s in bed (or should be!)

Here’s the line up for July:

Monday, July 5th, 8pm: Finding Coupons and Making Sense of the Fine Print

Monday, July 19th, 8pm: Coupon Organization

On these days, all you need to do is head HERE to watch me live. You’ll notice when you get there that there is a chat box. Guess what? You can create an account (only takes a minute) and chat with other viewers…and me! I’m able to watch your chat which means if you pose a question I can do my best to answer right then and there.

For the next few months, I plan on just walking you through the Couponing 101 process. Beyond that, we’ll dive into some topics related to couponing and frugal living. Your ideas are always welcome.

Hope to see you Monday night!
