11 Delicious & Interesting Things I found at Trader Joe’s

I love shopping at Trader Joe’s for 2 reasons: 1) I find I can do my entire grocery shopping in about 20-30 minutes and 2) they sell things you can’t get anywhere else. Unfortunately, I usually spend more at Trader Joe’s (most likely because of reason #2). So I limit to my trips to Trader Joe’s to about once a month – same at Costco.

Of course, I found a few things on my trip yesterday that caught me eye that I wanted to share with you.

Meyer Lemon Cake at Trader Joe's

Meyer Lemon Cake Mix with Lemon Icing: $3.29  Coffee Flour at Trader Joe's

Coffee Flour: $3.99
What would you use this for? I’m thinking maybe brownies or some other chocolate-y desserts.  Vienna Coffee Meringes at Trader Joe's

Vienna Coffee Meringues: $3.49  Melon Juice at Trader Joe's

Organic Melon Juice, 33.8 oz: $3.9
Can’t say ‘ve ever thought about melon juice! I’m curious about the flavor. Maybe it would be good in a punch or as a cocktail, too. Mango Juice at Trader Joe's

100% Pure Mango Juice, 4 ct 8.4 oz: $2.99
I love mangos and was intrigued by this mango juice. I bet you could use it in cooking and baking as well as drinking. Giant Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce at Trader Joe's

Giant Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce: $1.99
I nearly bought this, but didn’t (and now regret it). I’m wondering how these could be used. In a soup?

Way more Chocolate Chips Cookies: $4.29
I bought these and yes, they are good! Garlic Fig Jam at Trader Joe's

Roasted Garlic & Onion Jam: $2.99
The sign says to “spread it on anything within reason.” I’m thinking it might make an interesting condiment for bratwurst or burgers. The jar also suggests serving it with meats and cheeses. Other ideas? Have you tried this?

Greens, Beans & Grains: ~$3.29
I’ve seen this in the freezer section before, never tried it. Looks like a good vegan option! Hearts of Palm at Trader Joe's

Hearts of Palm: $3.29
The sign reads that the flavor is similar to an artichoke. Any ideas for how you’d use them? Maybe in a salad or in pasta?   Toasted Coconut Flour at Trader Joe's

Toasted Coconut Pancake Mix: $3.69
This sounds heavenly! Another item I regret leaving behind… sniff!

Have you tried any of these items? Any other items you’ve purchased recently at Trader Joe’s I need to know about?

  1. I bought the coffee flour and the meringues a couple weeks back. The meringues were so good. The coffee flour is something that isn’t a stand-alone product. It’s meant to increase fiber content when mixed with other flours. The flavor of it is really earthy and in my opinion, pretty gross. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with the remainder of my bag, but I was intrigued and had to buy it. My husband wants the toasted coconut pancake mix so bad! If only it were gluten free. The giant baked beans are a traditional Greek recipe, I believe. Here’s a recipe I found online awhile back when I had first heard of Gigantes and wasn’t sure what they were or how to use them. https://www.olivetomato.com/tender-greek-roasted-beans-in-tomato-sauce-gigantes-plaki/
