8 Ways to Get Free Laptops

Nowadays more people than ever are working from home, and more students are learning online, even if only part-time. If your family is in a situation where you’re fighting over one computer, it’s time to stop the madness!

There are numerous ways you can get free laptops, especially if you have a low income.

Many non-profit organizations recognize that providing technology for free or at a low cost to individuals who need them is greatly beneficial to people’s further education and job opportunities.

By providing free laptops or free desktop computers, they’re helping people get access to more online resources.

These organizations also often provide free technology education so the recipients can become proficient in using technology.

Where to Get Free Laptops

There are numerous ways to get free laptops…if you qualify. Most organizations that give out free laptops require you to go through an application process that is usually income dependent.

Here are seven places to look for free laptops.

1. Computers with Causes

Computers with Causes is an organization that gives out free computers to those in need.

It’s a win-win for businesses and individuals who donate, too, as their donations of computers, tablets, laptops, and other equipment are tax-deductible.

To apply for a free computer, you’ll need to fill out the online form.

They state that their main goal is “to provide a refurbished computer gifted by our generous donors toward an educational, future learning program, foster home, or disabled veteran in need.”

Not everyone who asks for a computer will receive one, as they receive thousands of requests each year. Computers with Causes does a strict need assessment and background and reference check to weed out false requests.

It can take weeks for them to get back to you, so you’ll need to be patient. Still, your patience can pay off with a free laptop if you are truly in need.

All applications are valid for 30 days, so if you do not hear from them within that time frame, you can apply again.

Computers with Causes is part of the With Causes charitable network. This network has a mission to provide simple and effective assistance with long term effects.

They provide music education, assist those with disabilities, repair and gift vehicles, financially assist nonprofits, support homeless families, and help battered women and kids.

17 Easy Ways to Get Free Google Play Credits

If you have an Android device, you know that the way you’ll need to download apps and games is through the Google Play store.

Before you dig into your pockets to pay for these apps and games with your hard-earned cash, you should know that it’s possible – and even easy! – to earn free Google Play credits to use instead.

The Google Play store offers a wide selection of Android apps and games, and your Google Play credits (which will be available in gift card form) won’t ever expire, so you can use them when you’re ready.

Even if you don’t use an Android mobile device, you’ll probably still use the Google Play store as it offers music, movies, TV shows, books, and magazines for purchase.

I have an iPhone, but my Google Play catalog of purchases includes 30 movies, 58 music albums, and 5 books, not to mention a variety of apps I can use on my Chromebook or just keep in case I ever decide to switch back to an Android mobile device.

Top Ways to Get Free Google Play Credits

It’s easier than you think to earn free Google Play credits. Here are some of the best ways to get started.

1. Google Opinion Rewards

Google Opinion Rewards is my favorite way to earn free Google Play credits because the Google name is right there. Google wants your help in improving their products and services, and you can earn points in one of two ways.

First, download the Google Opinion Rewards app to make the most of your “standing around and waiting” time. Complete short surveys and get rewarded with Google Play credit. Enable notifications to get a heads up on when a survey is waiting to be completed.

Another option that is not currently open to new panelists is the Audience Measurement panel. If you’re lucky enough to be invited to this program, you’ll receive the products you need to get started sharing your TV and internet usage with Google.

This reminds me of the Nielsen Families program for keeping track of television ratings. It’s not something you can directly sign up for; you need to be asked. Still, if you can get into the program, you can make some big bucks!

2. Swagbucks

It’s super easy to earn points through Swagbucks, and I have been doing so for years. The easiest way to earn Swagbucks is by going through Swagbucks first to do your online shopping, then shop as normal and you’ll earn a certain number of Swagbucks per dollar spent (it varies by the day and by the retailer).

But that’s just one of the many ways to earn Swagbucks. You can also watch videos, answer surveys, sign up for special offers (many of which are FREE!), play games, and even just use Swagbucks as your default search engine.

Once you’ve earned enough Swagbucks, you can redeem them for Google Play and other gift cards. Earn Swagbucks via your normal online browser as well as the Swagbucks mobile app.

3. FeaturePoints

Download the FeaturePoints app to earn points for rewards which include free Google Play credit. Points can be earned in several different ways.

Earn cash back at popular retailers like:

  • Macy’s
  • Target
  • Walmart

Just take the extra step of going through the app before making your normal purchases. You can also complete surveys in your free time to earn points. Another way to earn is by trying free apps – including games – for just a few minutes to get credit.

Finally, you can share FeaturePoints with your friends to earn up to 50% of what they earn in points, for life. It pays to share – literally! Once you’ve earned enough points, you can choose from a variety of gift cards including Google Play.
