What to do with $10 Kohl’s Cash {Tips and Ideas}

What to do with $10 in Kohl's Cadh {Tips, Ideas & More!}

If you are a Kohl’s shopper, you know that Kohl’s often puts out “Kohl’s Cash” offers. Generally, the way they work is that during certain periods of the year you can earn Kohl’s Cash for a certain dollar amount you purchase. For instance, you may earn $10 in Kohl’s Cash for every $50 you spend. You can then redeem the Kohl’s Cash during a different, designated time. The Cash can be used on virtually anything in the store or online. If you have $10 in Kohl’s Cash, your purchase needs to be $10 or more to redeem it.

As I often write about Kohl’s here at the blog, I thought it would be a fun idea to share some ideas for how you can maximize your Kohl’s Cash, when you have it! Here are some general tips I have for you:

  • Don’t forget to redeem it. Obviously, this is a “use it or lose it” situation. Create a reminder for yourself to redeem it by the deadline!
  • Combine it with sales or discounts to stretch it further. Like any coupon, I like combining Kohl’s Cash with sales or discounts to make those dollars go further.
  • Try not to think of it as “free” money. It can be easy to be frivolous with Kohl’s Cash, but my advice is to use it only on items you’d have used real cash to purchase. This is going to help you make good decisions.
  • Budget carefully. If you don’t pay attention, using that $10 Kohl’s Cash can turn into additional purchases you’d not planned on.

With that, let me show you what I spotted at my Kohl’s store this morning that would be good options for $10 in Kohl’s Cash. Then, I’ll share what I ended up purchasing.

Easy Way to Cut a Coconut

While shopping at Grocery Outlet a couple weeks ago, my son begged me for a coconut. He wanted to drink the coconut water and see what’s inside. As I like to encourage adventurous produce eating, I decided let’s go for it! Now, I can’t say I recall ever buying a whole coconut with the shell before. It’s intimidated me. I’m mostly afraid I’m going to need some sort of power tools to break it open and then I’m going to injure myself and/or make a mess.

If that describes you, it’s time to conquer your coconut fears! I discovered an easy, non-dangerous way of cutting coconuts so now you, too, can enjoy fresh coconut water and coconut meat for your raw, vegan, Paleo, gluten-free, or any kind of diet really! A huge thank you to Healthful Pursuit for inspiration for today’s post.

Step one. Take a sharp knife and put a little pressure on each of the three spots on the top of the coconut until you find the “softest” one. When you find this, go ahead and gently make a hole. I found it helped to use a sharp knife to start the hole, and then finish the hole with the long, skinny part of a meat thermometer. A skewer or other long skinny kitchen tool may work too. So turns out you don’t need a drill, machete, ice pick or other dangerous tool to crack open your coconut!
