Puget Sound Area Spring Plant Sales – 2019

If you’ve got gardening on the mind, you might be interested in finding an upcoming plant sale to round out your yard or garden. I spent some time doing some research to compile some options to help you out. It would appear that the next few weekends are THE best time to plan a visit to a plant sale because there are quite a few happening! To make things easier, I’m going to separate the events out by weekend.

Plant Sales Happening Weekend of April 26 – 28

Master Gardener King County Plant Sale
April 26 (4-8pm) & 27 (9am-4pm)
UW Center for Urban Horticulture, 3501 NE 41st St, Seattle

Many plants for sale including over two dozen specialty plant vendors, including native and unusual species. In addition to having lots of garden plants and veggies, master gardeners will be on hand to answer your questions and help you shop. Free event and free parking.

Master Gardener Pierce County Plant Sale
April 27 (9am-4pm) & 27 (9am-3pm)
WSU Puyallup Research Center, 2606 W Pioneer, Puyallup

This plant sale features fruits and vegetables, trees, shrubs, native plants, and much more. In addition, there will be select plant and artisan vendors on hand. I’ve never attended this event, but am very tempted to check it out! The flyer states “great prices!” and checks, cards, and cash will all be accepted.

Central Puget Sound Native Plant Sale & Environmental Fair
April 27, 10am-4pm
Mercedale Park

This sale focuses on native plants, which are awesome for your yard and garden because they are ideally suited for our environment (this means they tend to grow well!). Expect a wide-range of plants, trees, shrubs, and more. There will also be environmental exhibits and vendors at the event including Puget Sound Bee Keepers and Full Circle Farm. Please do make sure to check out the parking/shuttle situation if you’re considering attending this event.

Hardy Plant Society Annual Spring Plant Sale
April 28th, 10am-2pm
UW Center for Urban Horticulture, 3501 NE 41st St, Seattle

Lots of free parking available and they are promising “hundreds of seed packets for $1 each.” Note that this is the same location that the Master Gardener Plant Sale will be taking place the two days prior.

NPA Annual Plant Sale
April 28th, 9am-3pm
Bellevue Botanical Garden, 12001 Main Street, Bellevue

Hosted by the Northwest Perennial Association, this sale offers – just as you’d imagine – perennials! The Facebook event states: “A select group of local small nurseries and growers will sell an amazing collection of perennials, shrubs, ferns, grasses and more. Many of these vendors are not open to the public, and all offer unique plants to delight any plant geek! This is your chance to shop from the best, all in one location, and bring home many new treasures to enhance your garden.”

Seattle Tilth Edible Plant Sale
May 4-5, 9am-3pm

This is an incredible plant sale and I’ve personally attended it on a couple occasions. They have a HUGE selection of edible plants including fruits, vegetables, and herbs of all kinds. There are also food trucks and other gardening-related vendors. Come early for the best selection.

Bellevue Demo Garden Plant Sale
May 4, 10am-2pm
Big Picture School, 148th Ave SE & 22nd, Bellevue

There is a Facebook event available with some video of the kind of plants that will be available. The Bellevue Demo Garden Facebook page also mentioned that the sale will include “excellent selections of tomato and pepper varieties, veggie & herb starts, ornamentals, gift planters, and more.”

Cesar Chavez Demo Garden Spring Plant Sale
May 4-5 & May 11-12, 9am-5pm each day

Edmonds Floretum Garden Club Sale
May 4, starting at 9am

I could not locate many details about this sale, but according to the website, they will be offering strawberry plants for just $1 each.

Plant Sales Happening Weekend of May 10 – 12

Woodinville Garden Club Annual Plant Sale
May 11, 9am-3pm
Chateau St. Michelle Winery

This plant sale has the added benefit of being situated on the beautiful winery grounds. It’s the Saturday just prior to Mother’s Day, so this might be the perfect place to take Mom! Shop an extensive selection of annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, hanging baskets and more.

Kitsap County Master Gardeners Plant Sale
May 11, 9am-3pm
Kitsap County Fairgrounds

Thousands of plants will be offered at this sale and there’s free parking to boot. Plan on finding shrubs, trees, perennials, annuals, and tons of tomato starts. Master gardeners will also be on hand to help answer questions and make your selections.

Edmonds Community College Horticulture Department Plant Sale

This sale features fuchsia baskets, annuals, tomatoes, perennials and more. Please plan on bringing cash or check only to this event as cards are not accepted.

Cesar Chavez Demo Garden Spring Plant Sale

Redmond Garden Club Annual Plant Sale
