I made what was likely my final Costco trip of the year today. I was nervous because I was going the Friday before Christmas. Surprisingly, it wasn’t too bad – probably because I went in the morning. Of course, I had to snap a bunch of pictures to make sure to share with you a bunch of stuff you didn’t know you needed… until now. As you might have guessed, this is a particularly dangerous time to shop at Costco. Tasty treats and nifty finds are found in every nook and cranny of the store. If you go, be prepared.
Without further ado, here are a few things I found during my Costco run today:
I found this beautiful barn door to the back of the store. It’s $249.99 and includes all the hardware you need to install it. I would really love this for my master bedroom as we have a doorway into the bathroom with no door. This is the charm of Costco: it reminds you of all those little house projects you forgot about.
This seems like a great price for a weight bench! A helpful Costco employee told us that these kind of items are only really sold around January (resolutions, right?) and then they don’t restock. Something to consider if you’re interested.
Two chairs and a small table for $199! Kind of a like an apartment in a box.
Cheese flight for $19.99. It contains 5 different kinds of cheese. I’m thinking this would be good if you’re putting together some sort of appetizer platter. Add some crackers, grapes, and olives and call it a day!
Don’t have time for Christmas cookie baking? Or maybe you need a nice platter for a work party? I think this $17.99 platter is a good option. It has 5 different kinds of cookies and I believe it reads “66 ct.”
Kirkland’s version of Bailey’s for a fraction of the price.
EOS Lip Balm 6 pack for just $9.99 on instant manufacturer’s rebate through 12/24. That works out to $1.67 each. Stocking stuffer idea, perhaps?
Don’t forget the fruitcake! Costco was selling these for just $9.99. I happen to be a person who likes fruitcake and wishes we’d see more of it around the holidays. I think it’s gotten a really unfair shake. You might recall my post from years ago now where I made my own fruitcake. It was a lot of work and pretty expensive. It’s a dessert that should be appreciated more.
Work gloves, 2 pairs, for just $14.99. My husband tells me these are pretty good quality.
Insulated lunch bag for $12.99.
Nifty little recliner for $399.99. It’s definitely better than the one we have at home right now and also definitely not in the budget right now.
‘Tis the season for chocolate samples at Costco!
Oh hey! It’s a ham! Costco was selling Kirkland Signature Spiral Sliced Hams for $1.99 per pound. Looking for ham? Compare this to other ham prices in the area.
This table was pretty cool. It’s $229.99 right now and it goes up and down. It also has 3 USB ports for charging station. A couple of the employees remarked that it was more stable, but they suspect someone (a curious customer, perhaps?) sat on it to see if they could ride it like an elevator. (Word to the wise: don’t do this if you buy it. It’s for a computer, not your rear.)
Tiramisu cake for $15.99. Yum, yum!
Costco is selling these golf umbrellas again for $13.99. I bought a few a couple years back and they are the best. (The ones I bought were green, but same brand.) We find they’ve held up so well for spectating our kids’ soccer games and cross country meets. And yes, I have used them both for rain and sun. Do yourself a favor and buy one (or two) and just keep ’em in the car.
Smoked ockeye Salmon for $19.99. SEems like a good deal – it was a decent sized box.
Outdoor rugs for $9.99. These look like nice, sturdy rugs for wiping your muddy boots on!
I am digging these cute little carryon cases for $39.99. Costco always seems to have nice luggage options.
Moleskin journal set, 6 pack for just $14.99 through 12/24.
Set of two Contigo travel mugs for $14.99 after instant savings – good through 12/24 only.
Cutting boards! These look great and I think the price is right too – just $13.99 for the set of three through 12/24 only.
Set of 3 desk boxes for $9.97.
This would make a cute gift idea! It’s a picnic/party basket with 8pc plasticware set for just $19.99.
This is so cute! It’s a set of 25 all occasion cards for $15.99. That works out to just $0.64 per card. Earlier this fall, I shared how I created a greeting card box on my desk. I have to say, it’s come in handier than I could’ve imagined. In the last week alone, I think I’ve pulled out about 3 cards! I also needed stamps and envelopes in the last week and it was nice not having to hunt for them. Buying a set like this would really help jump start your own collection. (Read my post about greeting cards if you missed it!)
We actually didn’t buy much on this particular trip. We ended up with 2 pairs of kids’ snowshoes (long story, but we couldn’t find them on a prior trip, ended up buying ones on Amazon, and now decided to return those for the Costco ones), a bottle of the Kirkland Irish Cream (Merry Christmas!), and 2 movie tickets ($16.99 and they’ll make a cool white elephant gift).
